We are in search of our inaugural sales leader to spearhead the formation of our revenue organization, craft our go-to-market strategy, and build our initial sales team. Key facts
What you'll do
- Develop and implement the sales department from scratch, establishing all necessary internal processes, tools, and the organizational framework.
- Oversee the complete sales cycle for mid-market and enterprise clients during the critical early growth stages.
- Partner closely with the CEO to fine-tune pricing strategies, product packaging, and the definition of our ideal customer profile.
- Set operational benchmarks for managing sales pipelines, forecasting revenue, and maintaining customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
- Lead recruitment and provide mentorship to the sales team as we expand following our Series A funding round.
- Deliver precise revenue reports and forecasts to the executive team and board members, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Collaborate with Product, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to align on customer insights and market positioning strategies.
- Act as the main liaison for senior executives in marketing and brand management, fostering strong relationships and facilitating communication.
Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in B2B SaaS sales, demonstrating a consistent record of achieving sales quotas.
- At least 2 years in a leadership role, such as Vice President, Director, or Head of Sales, with proven capabilities in guiding teams.
- Experience in selling to e-commerce, branding, or marketing sectors, with a strong understanding of their unique challenges and needs.
- Previous involvement as a founding or early sales team member in a Series A or Series B startup environment.
- Ability to effectively balance closing individual deals while simultaneously building a robust sales team for the future.
- Familiarity with CRM platforms like Salesforce and a solid understanding of maintaining sales data integrity.
- Candidates must be based in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area.
