About the role
In the capacity of the inaugural Brand Designer, you will play a pivotal role in defining the visual identity of a prominent AI-driven company. This position requires close collaboration with the co-founders to craft and enhance the brand's design and marketing strategies. As the company grows, your contributions will be essential in establishing a cohesive visual language that resonates across various platforms.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Design and evolve Nectar's visual identity, which encompasses elements such as logos, typography, color schemes, iconography, and motion graphics, tailored for diverse platforms including web, product interfaces, social media, and print materials.
- Oversee the application of the brand across all company assets, including the website, landing pages, pitch presentations, one-pagers, and sales collateral.
- Create visually engaging social media content and campaign graphics that embody Nectar's brand voice for product launches, announcements, and ongoing marketing efforts.
- Develop and formalize brand guidelines to ensure consistency and support the company's future growth and team expansion.
- Collaborate closely with the founders, marketing team, and initial product/engineering groups to ensure a unified brand experience across all customer touchpoints.
- Play a key role in shaping the design team as it grows, starting as the first member and setting the foundation for future hires.
- Conduct market research to understand trends and competitor branding, ensuring Nectar's design remains innovative and relevant.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions to generate creative ideas for marketing campaigns and brand initiatives.
- Gather feedback from stakeholders and iterate on designs to refine and enhance brand materials.
- Maintain an organized library of design assets and resources for easy access by the team.
- Engage in continuous learning and stay updated on design trends and tools to bring fresh ideas to the table.
Requirements
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in brand or visual design, preferably with a background in startups or agencies that have addressed multiple brand touchpoints.
- A strong portfolio that demonstrates systematic design thinking and the ability to create cohesive brand identities across various formats.
- Proficiency in defining new design processes and directions in the absence of established frameworks.
- Comprehensive knowledge of typography, layout principles, and color theory, with expertise in using Figma as a primary design tool.
- A genuine passion for the intersection of AI and marketing, though a technical background is not mandatory.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate design concepts and collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Previous experience designing for B2B SaaS companies, marketing technology, or social/community platforms would be advantageous.
- Familiarity with motion design and video editing tools to enhance visual storytelling.
- A background in user experience (UX) design to contribute to product-related visual elements.
Skills & tools
- Proficient in Figma for design and prototyping.
- Experience with motion and video editing tools is a plus, enhancing the ability to create dynamic content.
- Familiarity with design systems and component libraries to streamline design processes.

- The work schedule is hybrid, requiring four days in the office and allowing for three flexible remote days each quarter after three months of employment.
