Strategic Vendor Partnerships Lead, Technology
Job description
About the role
Multiverse is actively building the commercial backbone required to scale its AI-first enterprise strategy and you will be the operator who owns the end-to-end lifecycle of our most critical technology vendor relationships. You will architect and execute the commercial strategy for our most strategic partners such as model providers and hyperscalers, ensuring their capabilities are fully leveraged to drive business value. This role owns the narrative that transforms procurement from a defensive function into a core growth and innovation lever for the entire organisation. You will be accountable for identifying and activating co-selling, training, and product integration opportunities that directly enhance our value proposition to enterprise customers. The position demands a high level of commercial curiosity and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments to secure advantageous outcomes. You will establish the governance and evidence base that gives enterprise and regulated customers the confidence to accelerate their adoption of our platform. Ultimately, you will be the trusted external and internal operator who ensures our vendor ecosystem directly powers our mission to equip the workforce for the AI era.
Key facts
What you'll do
Establish and deepen commercial relationships with strategic technology vendors including model providers like Anthropic, infrastructure hyperscalers such as AWS and Google, major platforms like Salesforce and Oracle, as well as developer and security tooling vendors.
Centralise and modernise the technology acquisition lifecycle by architecting a single software asset register and an intake-and-approval flow that engages security and legal early as enablers rather than blockers.
Own the end-to-end commercial management of our live technology portfolio, including LLM enterprise contracts, AI tooling, Identity platforms, and other critical software agreements.
Drive a procurement strategy that shifts focus from pure cost reduction to total cost of ownership and usage-based pricing, ensuring spend is transparent and maps directly to measurable business outcomes.
Analyse and model the financial and operational impact of vendor relationships to uncover value-creation opportunities in training, co-development, and product integrations.
Act as the primary commercial operator for renewals and negotiations across the technology portfolio, holding the pen on key contractual decisions with clear commercial rationale.
Collaborate closely with engineering, security, legal, and finance teams to influence outcomes across functions you do not manage, using persuasion and clarity as primary tools.
Leverage AI tools in your daily workflow to draft and compare contracts, analyse spend data, and model the return on vendor investments to maintain a cutting-edge vendor strategy.
Build a robust evidence base of vendor performance and partnership success to accelerate trust with enterprise and regulated customers.
Maintain active oversight of the competitive AI and technology landscape to ensure our vendor strategy remains aligned with the evolving market dynamics and our long-term positioning.
Champion the use of procurement and partnerships as a strategic commercial lever that unlocks growth rather than treating it as a cost centre.
Serve as the critical link between our operational technology needs and the external vendor ecosystem, translating business requirements into executable commercial terms.
Continuously challenge the status quo of how we buy and use technology, identifying opportunities for consolidation, modernisation, and strategic advantage.
Requirements
You have built and grown relationships with major technology partners such as AWS, Google, Salesforce, and Anthropic, and you can point to specific commercial impact and value you have unlocked in those relationships.
You have direct experience negotiating and renewing software, cloud, or SaaS contracts and are comfortable with consumption-based pricing models and the trade-offs they require.
You are technically literate enough to challenge a vendor's claim without being an engineer, and you are comfortable operating within engineering and product environments rather than exclusively from a business-side perspective.
You understand procurement not as a barrier but as a lever, and you view compliance as a tool to enable faster decisions rather than an obstacle to be overcome.
You are comfortable making decisions and driving outcomes across security, legal, and finance teams without direct line management over those functions.
You have a proven track record of using data and evidence to drive procurement and vendor decisions, ensuring that spend is linked to clear business outcomes.
You possess strong persuasive communication skills and the ability to build trust with both internal stakeholders and external vendors in high-stakes enterprise environments.
You are legally authorised to work in the United Kingdom and are not requiring sponsorship for this role at this time.
Nice to have
Experience working within a fast-growing, venture-backed technology or EdTech environment.
Familiarity with AI and large language model tooling and the competitive dynamics of the AI provider market.
Practical notes
This is a full-time role based in London.
Only candidates legally authorised to work in the UK will be considered.
