About the role
You will own the end-to-end operational planning that ensures the D&I team can deliver complex work on schedule and to a high standard. You will be the primary guardian of project scope, resourcing levels, and milestone tracking for the department. This role requires you to translate the vision of the VP of Data & Insight into a clear operating plan with defined owners, timelines, and dependencies. You will directly manage the career development, day-to-day work, and capacity of Analytics Engineers and Analytics Developers. Success in this position means you bring structure, clarity, and consistent momentum to a fast-moving, technical environment. You will act as a key liaison between the D&I team and the broader technology and operations functions. You will build and maintain the playbooks and processes that allow the team to operate at scale without friction.

What you'll do
Coordinate the operational planning process for the D&I team by defining project scopes, owners, timelines, and dependencies with the Director of Data Engineering and Domain D&I Leads.
Monitor project delivery against established milestones, proactively identify risks and blockers, and coordinate solutions to maintain the delivery schedule.
Manage the capacity of Analytics Engineers and Analytics Developers, driving optimal allocation and dynamic reallocation as business priorities shift.
Own the team ceremony rhythm, including sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and quarterly planning sessions, ensuring they are actionable and well run.
Triage and coordinate all inbound support requests directed at the D&I team, prioritising work fairly and ensuring timely resolution.
Represent the D&I team within company-wide planning and coordination forums, contributing to the roadmap process and engaging with Tech and Ops support functions.
Maintain the D&I team tooling, such as Asana and Claude, to ensure visibility, accuracy, and up-to-date tracking of all work.
Act as the primary coordination point for cross-functional communication, reducing friction and keeping the team focused on high-impact delivery.
Identify opportunities to improve D&I delivery processes, standardise operational practices, and build reusable playbooks and templates.
Track D&I specific operational metrics like project velocity and support throughput to drive continuous improvement and evidence-based decision making.
Directly manage a team of Analytics Engineers and Analytics Developers, providing day-to-day guidance, oversight, and performance management.
Conduct weekly 1:1 meetings and periodic development conversations to support career growth, goal setting, and skills development.
Identify skill gaps within the team and coordinate learning opportunities through formal training, peer learning, or stretch assignments.
Foster a high-performance team culture grounded in accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision making.
Requirements
You must be eligible to work in the United Kingdom without the need for sponsorship.
You must have the right to work in the United Kingdom.
You must have a degree or equivalent experience.
You must have significant experience managing a team of data professionals, including Analysts, Engineers, or Developers.
You must have a strong track record of delivering complex data projects in a fast-paced, technical environment.
You must be highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
You must be comfortable working with data tools and platforms, including analytics and data management systems.
You must have excellent communication skills to coordinate with technical and non- technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
Experience working in a data, insight, or analytics leadership role within a technology or consulting environment.
A background in upskilling, learning and development, or HR technology is advantageous.

This role is based in London.
This is a full-time position.
