About the role
You will own the end-to-end orchestration of large-scale software and systems initiatives that directly power the MujinController and the broader MujinOS platform. You will design and drive execution roadmaps that synchronize cross-functional engineering teams across robotics, computer vision, and motion planning. You will act as the central command hub ensuring alignment between real-time digital twin capabilities and strategic business outcomes. You will translate ambiguous market demands and technical constraints into clear, actionable program-level plans. You will establish governance structures that maintain momentum while managing interdependencies across global teams. You will serve as the primary liaison between deep engineering work and executive stakeholders to safeguard delivery integrity. You will continuously assess program health, surface risks early, and pivot resources to keep critical milestones on track. You will champion data-driven decision making to optimize throughput and reliability across the automation stack.

What you'll do
Define program-level work breakdown structures that decompose complex automation features into trackable epics and cross-team deliverables.
Translate MujinMI objectives into iterative program schedules that account for motion planning, perception, and control dependencies.
Orchestrate synchronization between software, firmware, and hardware teams to ensure digital twin fidelity in physical deployments.
Establish metrics-driven milestones that measure progress across the MujinController no-code interface and underlying algorithms.
Lead risk assessment and issue resolution for initiatives involving truck unloading, palletizing, and picking workflows.
Coordinate with business stakeholders to reprioritize scope without compromising system integrity or real-time performance.
Manage dependency mapping across cross-regional teams to prevent bottlenecks in integration and testing.
Drive documentation standards that preserve institutional knowledge for configuration, vision, and control modules.
Facilitate cross-functional retrospectives to identify systemic blockers and improve program execution rhythms.
Own communication cadences, ensuring that engineering updates reach leadership with clarity and actionable insight.
Implement change control processes that evaluate impact on core automation workflows and deployment pipelines.
Champion continuous improvement by benchmarking program delivery against industry standards for high-velocity automation.
Requirements
You possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
You bring 8+ years of progressively responsible program management experience in software or hardware environments.
You have a proven track record managing large-scale initiatives that span multiple engineering disciplines.
You are fluent in technical concepts such as motion planning, computer vision, and real-time control systems.
You have experience working with digital twins and simulation environments that mirror physical automation systems.
You demonstrate advanced ability to manage cross-functional dependencies in globally distributed teams.
You show strong analytical skills, using data to drive decisions and forecast program outcomes accurately.
You communicate effectively with both technical engineers and non-technical business leaders in a clear, concise manner.
You are comfortable operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment where priorities evolve rapidly.
You have a history of delivering complex software and systems projects on schedule and within scope.
You are willing to travel occasionally to global hubs to align with engineering and operations teams.
You are eligible to work in Japan without sponsorship, or you already hold the necessary visa to work in the country.
You have deep respect for collaborative cultures and are proactive in fostering psychological safety across teams.
You understand the importance of compliance and governance in automated systems operating at scale.
Nice to have
Experience with MujinController, MujinOS, or similar no-code automation platforms.
Familiarity with industrial robotics applications in logistics, warehousing, or manufacturing.

Practical notes
This role is based in Tokyo, Japan at the MJHQ location.
The position is full-time and conducted primarily in English.
Travel may be required occasionally to support global operations and stakeholder alignment.
