About the role
The is entrusted with the complete lifecycle of hardware development for our flagship automation products. You will own the execution of product designs and tests from initial concept through to mass production, covering design, prototyping, validation, testing, and certification activities. This role requires a deep commitment to developing robust system hardware architecture and detailed design inputs that align with MujinOS and Machine Intelligence principles. You will be responsible for creating PCB design, schematics, and board layout for critical industrial robot control units. Additionally, you will document all firmware and hardware specifications, including schematics and fabrication drawings for custom circuit cards, drawer/rack/system wiring, and cabling. The position involves developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and unit and system test plans to ensure product reliability. You will also perform technical and regulatory compliance testing, as well as develop test fixtures specifically for factory acceptance testing.

- Execute end-to-end hardware development for the Mujin Controller, transforming abstract requirements into tangible, production-ready electronic systems.

- Engineer specialized test fixtures tailored for factory acceptance testing, enabling efficient and accurate validation of production units.
- Perform technical and regulatory compliance testing to certify that hardware components adhere to industry standards and safety requirements.
- Provide critical technical support for product releases to manufacturing and ongoing customer deployments, ensuring smooth transitions from development to operations.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with software, systems, and quality teams to resolve hardware-related issues and optimize overall system performance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing test results, identifying root causes of failures, and implementing corrective actions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field is mandatory for this position.
- Minimum of eight years of professional experience in hardware design, electronics engineering, or a closely related discipline is required.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing PCB design, schematics, and board layout for complex electronic systems is essential.
- Proven ability to develop system hardware architecture and define detailed design inputs for industrial control applications.
- Extensive experience in documenting firmware and hardware, including schematics, fabrication drawings, drawer/rack/system wiring, and cabling.
- Strong background in performing hardware test, system integration, and assembly processes for prototype and production units.
- Experience in developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and unit and system test plans is compulsory.
- Familiarity with technical or regulatory compliance testing procedures and certification standards for industrial equipment is required.
- Ability to support product releases to manufacturing and customer deployments with technical guidance and problem-solving.
