What you'll do

• Assist in coordinating and managing ocean freight shipments from origin to destination, ensuring timely delivery and compliance with all regulations.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders, including shipping lines, customs brokers, and internal teams, to facilitate smooth operations.
• Prepare and maintain accurate shipping documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and customs declarations.
• Monitor shipment status and proactively communicate updates to clients, addressing any issues that may arise during transit.
• Support the preparation of cost estimates and quotations for clients, ensuring competitive pricing and adherence to company policies.
• Conduct regular follow-ups with carriers and service providers to ensure adherence to schedules and service levels.
• Assist in the resolution of operational issues, including delays, damages, or discrepancies, by liaising with relevant parties.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Maintain organized records of shipments and operational activities, ensuring data accuracy in our systems.
• Engage in training and development opportunities to enhance your knowledge of ocean freight operations and logistics.
• Contribute to team meetings and brainstorming sessions, sharing insights and ideas for process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or a related industry is preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong understanding of ocean freight processes and documentation is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English; proficiency in additional languages is advantageous.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word; experience with logistics software is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to think critically and make decisions under pressure.
• Team player with a collaborative approach to working with colleagues and stakeholders.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges in the logistics field.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with customs regulations and import/export procedures.
• Experience with freight management systems or ERP software.
