Senior Business Operations & Strategy Analyst
Job description
About the role
MongoDB is seeking a Business Operations & Strategy Senior Analyst to join a small, high-impact team working on some of the company's most important strategic and financial priorities. You will work directly with senior leaders across finance, product, and analytics, including regular exposure to C-suite on high-stakes questions that shape how MongoDB scales. The scope spans strategic planning, business case development for new products, and partnerships with AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and other hyperscalers. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical horsepower, structured thinking, and executive presence who wants meaningful ownership and direct visibility into major business decisions. This is a hybrid / in-office role, with approximately two to three days per week in our New York City Office.
Location for this role is New York City. The engagement model is hybrid with two to three office days per week. The total compensation range for this position is USD 160,000 to USD 190,000 in base salary.
Responsibilities
You will own end-to-end analysis for major strategic choices that shape MongoDB's growth, efficiency, and long-term scale. This includes developing executive-facing business cases and recommendations for key product and infrastructure decisions, complete with scenario analysis and trade-off evaluation. You will manage relationships and contract negotiations with hyperscalers such as AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. You will partner with Finance, Product, and other cross-functional teams to evaluate business performance, surface key drivers, and translate ambiguous questions into structured analyses. Additional responsibilities include building and refining gross margin analyses and forecasting frameworks across MongoDB's core and emerging businesses.
You will design intake workflows that clarify priorities for complex initiatives. You will construct business models and forecasts for new products and cloud agreements. You will guide negotiations and contract terms with hyperscalers like AWS and Google Cloud. You will shape performance reviews by linking data to executive level decision making. You will build gross margin frameworks and scenario models for emerging revenue lines. You will coordinate review cycles with finance and product teams to align assumptions. You will oversee validation checks before analysis enters executive presentations. You will ship insights through clear narratives, dashboards, and timely decision support. You will forge partner roadmaps with technology teams to enable joint growth plans.
Requirements
Candidates must bring two to five years of experience in business strategy or operations roles, with at least two years as a management consultant or at a data-driven product or technology company. You must possess outstanding problem-solving skills and the ability to structure ambiguous business questions into clear analyses and actionable recommendations. Strong executive communication skills are required, with the ability to distill complex findings into concise, compelling narratives. Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, or Google Suite equivalent, are necessary. Experience with using SQL to retrieve and manipulate data is a plus. A BA/BS in a quantitative or business-related field is required.
Nice to have
Preference will be given to candidates with management consulting or data-driven product experience.
