About the role
This position invites you to join our team dedicated to maintaining a clean and safe warehouse environment that directly supports our mission of reducing food waste in the community. You will perform essential sanitation tasks with diligence to ensure our facility consistently meets strict hygiene standards required for grocery operations. In this role, you own the responsibility of upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and safety in all areas of the warehouse during your shift. You are accountable for managing chemical dilution and ensuring all cleaning agents are prepared correctly according to specifications. Ownership of identifying and resolving immediate warehouse hazards such as spills or waste buildup rests with this position. You will process and record donations for partners while handling the disposal of damaged inventory with care and accuracy. This role requires you to keep the warehouse organized and ensure sanitation supplies are always stocked and accessible. You will utilize digital devices daily for training, documentation, and communication to support operational efficiency.

What you'll do
- Follow all food safety protocols, including GMP, HACCP, and OSHA regulations, to maintain a compliant workspace.
- Execute cleaning duties as directed by the Maintenance Tech using approved methods to ensure thoroughness and consistency.
- Manage chemical dilution for detergents and sanitizers precisely to meet safety and effectiveness standards.
- Identify and resolve warehouse hazards like spills or waste buildup and report issues promptly to the Maintenance Tech.
- Process and record donations for partners accurately and handle the disposal of damaged inventory with attention to detail.
- Keep the warehouse organized and ensure sanitation supplies are stocked to prevent disruptions in workflow.
- Use digital devices for training, documentation, and communication to stay aligned with team objectives.
- Assist the operations team with additional tasks as required to support overall warehouse functionality.
- Monitor facility conditions continuously and take corrective action when deviations from standards are observed.
- Contribute to a positive work environment by demonstrating reliability and professionalism at all times.
- Adhere to schedule requirements and ensure punctuality for the Saturday through Wednesday shift.
- Support cross-functional needs as they arise to maintain seamless operations across departments.
Requirements
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
- Prior experience in warehouse, food manufacturing, or distribution settings is mandatory.
- Ability to work in a 36-degree refrigerated environment for extended periods without impairment.
- Capable of working independently and following specific instructions with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain a positive attitude under pressure are essential.
- Physical ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds as required by job duties.
- Physical ability to walk, bend, squat, climb, reach, and kneel for prolonged periods while performing tasks.
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening and background check as part of the hiring process.
- Reliable transportation to the San Antonio location is required for consistent attendance.
- Willingness to comply with all company policies and procedures governing workplace conduct.
- Commitment to maintaining personal hygiene and cleanliness while handling food-related environments.

Practical notes
- Compensation is $16 per hour.

- Employees receive a $1200 annual grocery box credit paid in weekly installments.
- Schedule: Saturday 8 am to 4:30 pm; Sunday through Wednesday 5 pm to 1:30 am.
