About the role
The is responsible for owning the end to end lifecycle of strategic initiatives within emerging business segments. You will lead the pursuit process for projects in emerging business lines, building a strong opportunity pipeline and acting as the primary capture manager for new prospects. This role requires driving go/no go evaluations and steering opportunities through a structured risk management process to ensure informed decision making. You will oversee project metrics for emerging business lines, either through direct project management or by delegating responsibilities to ensure alignment with corporate objectives. On this team, you will monitor profitability and financial performance of projects to safeguard the bottom line. On the team, you will ensure strict adherence to MEC Quality Control procedures to maintain consistency and excellence. You will partner with cross functional stakeholders to translate client needs into actionable project plans. Ultimately, you will ensure that project delivery meets strategic goals while optimizing resources and timelines.

- Direct quality control (QC) efforts, ensuring scopes of work, schedules, and budgets are thoroughly assessed during both the pursuit phase and execution phase to mitigate potential risks.
- Provide support in contract reviews, negotiations, and advisement, especially during annual renewal processes to protect client relationships and revenue.
- Ensure alignment and collaboration with regional team members, focusing on staff development, quality control, and resource coordination to enhance capability.
- Support project team members in emerging business lines by fostering collaboration with the MEC Leadership Team to enable knowledge sharing and strategic oversight.
- Uphold strict compliance with company and site safety policies, ensuring all projects operate within safety standards to protect personnel and assets.
- Facilitate communication across stakeholders to maintain transparency and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
- Drive the documentation of lessons learned and best practices to continuously improve project execution and organizational learning.
Requirements

- A bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, business, or a related field from an accredited program is required to ensure foundational knowledge and credibility.
- Demonstrated experience in project management or a related role is essential to navigate complex initiatives and deliver results.
- Proven ability to lead cross functional teams and manage stakeholders across various levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate project performance, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to articulate project status, risks, and decisions clearly.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software to track progress, manage resources, and report metrics accurately.
- Capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
