Key facts

What you'll do

Operate mechanical equipment such as Jarraff units to clear dense vegetation from utility corridors.

Conduct pre-operational inspections of all tools, machinery, and personal protective equipment before starting work.

Trim or remove trees and branches situated near electrical power lines using bucket trucks and aerial devices.

Transport organic debris to designated disposal areas while leaving worksites clean and secure.

Assist ground personnel by lifting and positioning materials to facilitate safe and efficient job site flow.

Monitor site conditions and adjust work methods to comply with environmental regulations and safety protocols.

Communicate effectively with foremen and utility representatives to confirm job objectives and site expectations.

Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, equipment status, and any potential hazards encountered during operations.

Support the continuous improvement of crew procedures by sharing feedback and suggesting practical solutions.

Uphold company standards by demonstrating a strong commitment to professionalism, reliability, and workplace safety.

Participate in ongoing training sessions to refresh skills and stay current with industry best practices.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of vegetation management projects.

Perform additional duties as assigned to support team productivity and operational success.

Contribute to a culture of safety by following all company policies and regulatory requirements without exception.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age to operate equipment or work in specific utility roles.

Possess a valid driver's license in good standing as required for the position.

Be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship requirements at this time.

Pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks as part of the hiring process.

Demonstrate the physical ability to perform duties that may include climbing, lifting, and extended outdoor work.

Understand and comply with all ANSI and OSHA safety standards while on the job site.

Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality for all scheduled shifts and job calls.

Commit to wearing appropriate personal protective equipment at all times during operations.

Agree to follow all company policies, job site procedures, and client expectations consistently.

Nice to have

2+ years of experience operating a bucket truck or aerial lift in a utility or tree care setting.

Familiarity with mechanical trimmers such as Jarraff and similar heavy equipment.

Knowledge of tree species, trimming techniques, and vegetation growth patterns.

Valid CDL or willingness to obtain the certification during the employment period.

Experience conducting pre-operation equipment inspections and routine maintenance.

Strong understanding of line clearance safety protocols and worksite communication practices.
