About the role
You will own the daily execution and long term outcomes of multiple foundation projects from start to finish while operating across crews, trades, and project leadership. You will interpret plans and specifications to ensure work aligns with engineering requirements and contractual obligations. This role requires you to manage resources, solve problems in real time, and keep projects on schedule and within budget. You will directly supervise foremen and workers to drive safe, efficient, and high quality performance on every shift. You will serve as the primary point of contact for the General Superintendent and coordinate closely with Project Managers and Michels Safety staff. You will uphold the company's reputation by delivering foundations that meet technical standards and support the long term success of essential infrastructure. Your work helps modern construction projects move forward reliably even though your efforts are behind the scenes and essential rather than visible.

What you'll do
Coordinate and direct all foundation activities across multiple projects simultaneously to maintain momentum and meet project milestones.
Supervise crews and subcontractors responsible for structural concrete, ensuring that forming systems, mix designs, and admixtures are applied correctly and consistently.
Perform hands on work when necessary while also managing subordinates to resolve field issues and keep tasks on schedule.
Monitor progress against plans and specifications, then communicate adjustments to the Project Manager and General Superintendent.
Enforce Michels Safety standards at every level, intervening immediately to correct unsafe conditions and reinforce safe work practices.
Manage material deliveries, equipment allocation, and workforce deployment to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
Verify that subcontractors meet contractual requirements, quality expectations, and compliance obligations throughout the project lifecycle.
Maintain detailed records of activities, decisions, and issues to support reporting, audits, and continuous improvement.
Collaborate with cross functional teams to coordinate site logistics, site access, and sequencing for complex foundation installations.
Adapt to evolving project conditions, shifting priorities, and new technologies while keeping teams informed and engaged.

Requirements
You must have at least 5 years of related experience and or training in the construction industry to qualify for this role.
You must have direct experience with structural concrete construction, including forming, placing, and finishing operations.
You must have proven experience with subcontract management, overseeing trade partners and ensuring compliance with project requirements.
You must understand forming systems, mix designs, and admixtures commonly used in foundation work.
You must hold a valid driver license for the type or types of vehicles you may operate on project sites.
Your driving record must meet Michels Review Team standards and demonstrate safe driving practices.
You must be willing and able to travel and commit to long term onsite projects as required by project needs.
You must be able to perform the essential functions of this role, with or without reasonable accommodation, in accordance with company policies.
Nice to have
Knowledge of current forming systems, mix designs, and admixtures as applied to industrial and infrastructure foundations.
Experience working in dynamic, fast paced environments where schedules and priorities can change quickly.
Familiarity with company wide safety programs, tools, and expectations for field teams.
Ability to collaborate effectively with Project Managers, superintendents, and subcontractors in a union and non union environment.
Comfort using digital tools for scheduling, reporting, and communication while managing multiple project responsibilities.
Practical notes
This role may require extended onsite stays based on project duration and operational demands.
Travel is expected as part of project assignments and operational requirements.
