The Senior Accountant will own the end-to-end accuracy and integrity of our corporate accounting operations within a high-growth environment. You will own the execution and continuous improvement of the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. This role will drive the design and maintenance of critical balance sheet account reconciliations that underpin our financial controls and audit readiness. You will own the preparation and presentation of key financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement for internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, you will own the oversight of accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, coordinating with offshore teams and vendors to ensure efficient and accurate processing. This position provides the opportunity to build scalable cross-functional relationships by implementing systems and process improvements that drive efficiency and scalability across the finance organization.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Drive the execution of month-end and year-end close activities, owning journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Architect and enhance balance sheet account reconciliations, taking ownership of reviewing and cleaning historical reconciliations and related balances for reliability.
- Lead the preparation of various financial statements, such as the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement, ensuring compliance with reporting standards.
- Identify and implement process improvements across the close cycle to gain efficiencies and reduce close timelines through automation and best practices.
- Oversee accounts payable functions, including managing our offshore team's work, coordinating vendor onboarding, reviewing vendor invoices, managing vendor payments, and ensuring timely issuance of 1099 forms.
- Manage the Billing and Accounts Receivable processes, taking ownership of invoice processing and collections activities to optimize cash flow and customer relationships.
- Utilize financial software systems such as Campfire, Ordway, Stripe, and Ramp to manage financial data and reporting tasks efficiently and support cross-functional analysis.
- Champion automation and continuous improvement initiatives to streamline accounting workflows, reduce manual effort, and improve scalability across finance operations.
- Leverage technology, data analytics, and AI-enabled solutions to enhance reporting accuracy, operational efficiency, and financial insights for strategic decision-making.
- Support the annual financial statement audit by preparing audit schedules, responding to audit requests, and interacting directly with external audit staff to ensure timely completion.
- Stay current on pertinent accounting standards, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and proactively drive ongoing improvement initiatives within the finance team.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting as a foundational requirement for this role.
- Possess a CPA or equivalent certification as a preferred qualification that demonstrates advanced technical knowledge.
- Bring 1+ years of relevant accounting experience, with a combination of public accounting (Big 4 strongly preferred) and industry experience spanning from startup through public company stages viewed as a strong plus.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP as a core technical requirement for accurate financial reporting and compliance.
- Show proven experience with general ledger functions and the month-end and year-end close process as a strongly preferred competency.
- Highlight prior experience with financial audit preparation as a preferred qualification for supporting external audit activities.
- Prove proficiency across the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, etc.), with a must-have high level of expertise in Excel and Google suite products for financial analysis and reporting.
- Exhibit excellent writing, oral communication, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills with a high attention to detail in all deliverables.
- Display excellent problem-solving skills and project management experience as a plus, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Preferred bonus qualifications include direct accounting experience in any of the following areas: accruals, ASC 718 share-based payments, and ASC 842 leases.
- Preferred bonus qualifications also include proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, etc.), Campfire, Ramp, and Ordway to accelerate adoption and productivity.

Compensation: The cash compensation range for this role is $105,000-135,000
