About the role
You will own the end-to-end financial accounting cycle for international entities, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all financial reporting outputs. You will act as a key strategic partner to the business units, translating complex financial data into clear analysis that drives decision-making and operational excellence. This role demands a proactive mindset where you continually seek out and resolve accounting queries while championing process improvements and automation. You will build strong technical control over month-end activities, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations, to safeguard the integrity of the financial statements. The position requires a deep commitment to supporting group reporting requirements and maintaining seamless alignment with the US parent company, Navan. You will be instrumental in fostering a high-performing finance environment by collaborating closely with stakeholders to ensure robust financial controls and compliance.

What you'll do
Support the monthly close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting in accordance with group deadlines.
Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts, providing in-depth analysis to Reed & Mackay stakeholders and the US parent company.
Prepare and post month-end journals, execute balance sheet reconciliations, and investigate discrepancies to ensure data integrity.
Conduct variance analysis of financial results, offering clear commentary on performance trends to support business decisions.
Maintain rigorous financial controls, contributing to SOX compliance and the continuous enhancement of internal control frameworks.
Prepare statutory financial statements and provide active support during internal and external audit processes.
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and comply with company policies.
Partner with cross-functional teams across Finance, including FP&A, Tax, Payroll, Treasury, and Accounts Payable, to streamline financial processes.
Identify opportunities to leverage technology and automation, improving the efficiency and standardisation of financial workflows.
Lead ad hoc finance projects, system implementations, and continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence.
Collaborate with the wider Finance function to provide guidance and support, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
Operate as a hands-on professional, taking ownership of complex responsibilities and driving initiatives to maturity.
Requirements
You must be a fully qualified accountant holding ACA, ACCA, or CIMA certification, or possess equivalent experience.
You must demonstrate a solid understanding of travel distribution models, although this is not a strict prerequisite for the role.
You must have proven experience with NetSuite financial systems, or be willing to quickly develop this expertise.
You must exhibit strong business acumen and the ability to connect financial insights with commercial outcomes.
You must communicate with clarity and professionalism, adapting your style for diverse audiences.
You must possess meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all deliverables.
You must be comfortable managing the month-end close process and consistently meeting strict deadlines.
You must have strong numeric and accounting competency, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
You must be capable of reconciling general ledger accounts with minimal supervision and high accuracy.
You must be effective at interacting and communicating with both internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
You must have an eye for detail, proactively identifying risks and opportunities within financial processes.
You must be able to handle high volumes of transactional work efficiently and accurately.
Practical notes
The role is based in London, with an expectation of some travel to other Reed & Mackay locations as operational needs dictate. This travel requirement is essential for supporting multi-site financial operations and ensuring consistency across our global offices. The position operates within the standard corporate framework, and candidates should be prepared for occasional trips to contribute to team meetings and strategic initiatives. There are no specific hour commitments outlined beyond the standard expectations for a full-time financial professional within the Navan Group. Success in this role will depend on your ability to manage competing priorities and adhere to strict reporting deadlines imposed by group governance.
