About the role
Mercury is seeking a Senior Manager
Product Partner Operations to lead cross-functional coordination between product teams and external partners across the organization. This role sits at the intersection of product strategy and operational execution, ensuring that partner integrations and workflows are delivered on time and at scale. The Senior Manager will own the end-to-end lifecycle of partner-facing product initiatives, from initial scoping and planning through launch and ongoing optimization. You will work closely with engineering, design, and business stakeholders to align partner operations with Mercury's broader product roadmap and growth objectives. This position requires someone who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational detail while managing a team of specialists.

What you'll do
Lead the planning and execution of partner operations workflows across multiple product teams at Mercury.
Define and maintain operational playbooks that govern how external partners interact with Mercury's platform and products.
Coordinate with engineering leads to scope, prioritize, and deliver partner-facing feature releases and technical integrations.
Monitor partner onboarding metrics and identify bottlenecks that slow down time-to-value for new external partners.
Build and manage a team of operations specialists who handle day-to-day partner support, troubleshooting, and escalation.
Create dashboards and reporting structures that give leadership clear visibility into partner health, adoption rates, and satisfaction scores.
Serve as the primary liaison between Mercury's product organization and external partner organizations on a daily basis.
Drive process improvements that reduce manual effort and increase automation across all partner operations functions.
Facilitate cross-team meetings to align product roadmaps with partner expectations and contractual obligations and timelines.
Own the documentation and knowledge base for all partner operations procedures, runbooks, and best practices.
Requirements
Proven track record of managing product operations or partner operations in a fast-paced technology company for multiple years.
Strong understanding of API integrations, platform ecosystems, and how third-party partners consume product infrastructure and services.
Experience leading a team of at least five people with direct responsibilities for hiring, mentoring, and performance management.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences clearly.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field such as computer science, business administration, or engineering.
At least eight years of professional experience in product operations, partner management, or a closely related discipline.
Demonstrated ability to work across multiple time zones and coordinate with distributed teams and external stakeholders effectively.
Familiarity with agile development methodologies and experience working within sprint-based delivery cycles in a product-driven organization.

Experience working with financial technology or banking platforms and understanding of regulatory constraints that affect partner integrations.
Background in building self-service tools or portals that enable partners to manage their own integrations and configurations independently.
Prior experience at a venture-backed startup or high-growth company where operational processes were built from the ground up.
Knowledge of data privacy standards and security best practices relevant to partner data handling and access management protocols.
Skills & tools
Proficiency with project management platforms such as Asana, Jira, or Monday.com for tracking partner operations initiatives and timelines.
Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Looker, or Google Data Studio for building operational dashboards and reports.
Familiarity with workflow automation platforms including Zapier, Make, or custom scripting to reduce manual partner operations tasks significantly.
Strong command of spreadsheet and data analysis tools including Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for partner metrics tracking and analysis.
Comfort with API documentation tools and platforms such as Swagger or Postman to understand partner integration requirements and specifications.
Ability to use collaboration and communication tools including Slack, Confluence, and Zoom for distributed team coordination and documentation.

This role operates within the United States and offers flexibility across San Francisco, New York, Portland, or fully remote arrangements.
