About the role
The Behavior Technician Support Specialist at MeBe Family plays a vital role in delivering high-quality, evidence-based therapies to children with autism and other special needs. This position involves mentoring and coaching Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), supporting client sessions, and ensuring compliance with payor-specific requirements. The role emphasizes fostering a positive, engaging, and compassionate environment, while maintaining professionalism and high standards of care. The Behavior Technician Support Specialist acts as a key link between new hires, existing staff, and clients, ensuring smooth onboarding, ongoing support, and adherence to all regional and organizational protocols. This position is integral to supporting the mission of MeBe Family, which is to empower families, professionals, and communities through education and training on research-based approaches such as ABA, OT, and Speech therapy.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Serve as a mentor, coach, and model for Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), acting as a MeBe ambassador to promote best practices and uphold the organization's standards of care.
- Work directly with clients for the majority of your workweek, following a predetermined schedule that ensures consistency and quality of service.
- Provide coverage and support as a floater or coverage RBT as needed, filling in for staff absences or increased client demand to ensure continuous care.
- Perform BTSS duties based on the volume of new hires each month, including onboarding support and training.
- Conduct test outs for specific regions on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis, ensuring new staff meet required standards before working independently.
- Follow up weekly with BTs to verify completion of payor-specific requirements, including RBT sign-up, exam completion, CPR registration, and other certifications as required.
- Coordinate 15-30 minute check-in meetings with all new hires at key milestones: 2 weeks, 30 days, 60 days, and 90 days of employment, providing guidance, feedback, and support to facilitate their integration and success.
- Ensure all staff maintain current certifications such as RBT, CBT, CPR/BLS, and other regionally mandated credentials.
- Uphold MeBe's core values and mission in all interactions, fostering a culture of transparency, compassion, and continuous improvement.
- Support the onboarding process for new BTs and other staff, ensuring they understand organizational policies, procedures, and expectations.
- Assist in the development of training materials and resources to support staff growth and compliance.
- Collaborate with team members and leadership to identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices.
- Maintain detailed documentation of staff progress, certifications, and client interactions to ensure compliance and quality assurance.
- Promote a positive work environment by encouraging teamwork, open communication, and mutual respect among staff and clients.
- Support the organization's efforts to expand treatment spaces and improve service delivery in applicable locations.
- Participate in company-sponsored events and initiatives aimed at team building, professional development, and community engagement.
- Act as a resource for staff and clients, providing guidance and support to resolve issues promptly and effectively.
- Stay informed about updates in regional regulations, certification requirements, and best practices in ABA and related therapies.
Requirements
- Minimum 12 months experience as a BT (does not have to be with MeBe) with a demonstrated track record of high-quality work.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are essential for on-site work and client visits.
- Ability to work full-time Monday through Friday, with consistent availability during business hours.
- Must be available at least 2 Saturdays per month to support client needs and organizational activities.
- Successful background check clearance is mandatory.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Ability to work with a diverse range of clients, including those with severe maladaptive behaviors, requiring patience and adaptability.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain minimal cancellations and a consistent session conversion record.
- No disciplinary actions within the last 12 months, reflecting professionalism and reliability.
- Ability to maintain all required regional certifications, including RBT, CBT, CPR/BLS, and others as mandated.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with staff, clients, and families.
- A compassionate, patient, and positive attitude that aligns with MeBe's mission and values.
- Ability to follow detailed protocols and procedures accurately, ensuring compliance and quality of care.

Practical notes
