About the role
The individual in this position is responsible for defining and owning the end-to-end go-to-market strategy for a new AI-native market research service line at Maze. This role requires the hire to act as the primary commercial leader, establishing positioning, packaging, and pricing for the service offering. They will own the full business lifecycle, from initial opportunity identification through to deal closure and customer expansion. The person must build and leverage a deep network within the market research community to engage both new buyers and existing Maze customers. They are tasked with shaping the service narrative around AI capabilities and automating insights to drive product decisions. Close collaboration with the Head of Market Research is essential to ensure the commercial strategy aligns with service delivery capabilities. The hire will also represent Maze in industry conversations, turning early successes into scalable demand and repeatable reference stories.

What you'll do
- Define and co-own the go-to-market strategy for Maze's Market Research service, including positioning, packaging, pricing, and target segment selection.
- Establish the metrics, forecasts, and operating cadence specific to a new line of business, iterating quickly based on market feedback and performance data.
- Coordinate with the existing sales team to generate qualified pipeline and manage opportunities through the entire sales cycle until closure.
- Activate a personal market research network to open doors with insights leaders and research buyers, initiating conversations and opportunities.
- Partner with Sales and Marketing to deliver enablement materials, playbooks, joint account planning, and targeted outbound plays.
- Manage the full sales cycle activities, including scoping, proposals, pricing, negotiation, and final close, while bringing the Head of Market Research as the expert practitioner voice.
- Partner with Marketing to build Maze's voice and presence in the market research category, focusing on content, events, communities, and thought leadership initiatives.
- Represent Maze at industry events and in broader conversations about how AI is changing the research landscape and reshaping service delivery.
- Act as the connective tissue between Sales, Marketing, Research, and Product, surfacing market needs and feeding them back into the service and platform roadmap.
- Bring AI into daily workflow to do more with less, modeling these behaviors for the team and embedding AI-native practices into the service methodology.
- Turn early customer wins into compelling stories, references, and case studies that fuel demand generation and validate the offering.
- As the service scales, help shape the team structure, playbooks, and operational processes required to support sustainable growth.
- Define the service offering in collaboration with the Head of Market Research, ensuring it aligns with what insights buyers actually need.
- Maintain ownership of commercial outcomes, ensuring the business achieves its revenue and adoption targets.
Requirements
- Significant experience growing market research services, insights consulting, or research technology businesses, including demonstrated ownership of commercial outcomes.
- A very strong network of market research buyers and practitioners that can be activated from day one to accelerate pipeline creation.
- Deep market research domain expertise, including qualitative and quantitative methodologies, study design, and an understanding of how insights organizations buy and operate.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a full sales cycle, including scoping, negotiation, and closing complex deals in a B2B environment.
- Experience working with or managing sales and marketing teams in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
- Comfort with data and metrics, using forecasts, pipeline analysis, and business performance indicators to drive decisions.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a builder's mentality, capable of establishing new functions and processes with limited precedent.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate complex value propositions to executive-level stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Experience launching new service lines or product offerings in a SaaS or research technology environment.
- Familiarity with AI tools and platforms used in research, and a track record of integrating them into workflows.
