Mastery Schools is on the lookout for a passionate Bilingual Social Worker to join our team in Camden, NJ. What you'll do
- Deliver individual and group counseling sessions tailored to meet the social, emotional, and behavioral requirements of students.
- Oversee and manage school-wide student assistance initiatives while collaborating with external organizations for additional support.
- Conduct home visits to assist families in navigating available social services and resources.
- Serve as the primary contact for addressing behavioral health emergencies and reporting any suspected child abuse to the Department of Human Services.
- Provide specialized support to vulnerable student populations, including those experiencing homelessness, grief, or parenting challenges.
- Ensure meticulous documentation of all services provided to students, including interventions and support strategies.
- Monitor and analyze data related to student outcomes, incidents of crisis, and the utilization of support services.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop strategies that promote a positive school environment and enhance student well-being.
- Facilitate workshops and training sessions for staff on mental health awareness and effective intervention strategies.
- Advocate for students and families, ensuring they have access to necessary resources and services.
- Participate in regular team meetings to discuss student progress and share insights on best practices in social work.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all interactions with students and families.
Requirements
- A Master's degree in Social Work or a related clinical discipline is required.
- Possession of a New Jersey School Social Work Certification is essential.
- A minimum of two years of experience working in child or adolescent social work is necessary.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish is required to effectively communicate with diverse student populations.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Strong leadership qualities and problem-solving skills are essential for this role.
Nice to have
- New Jersey Licensure as an LSW, LPC, or LCSW is a plus.
- Experience in a school setting is highly desirable.
- A background in urban education environments will be beneficial.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care practices is advantageous.
- Experience in developing and implementing social programs for students is a bonus.

Practical notes
- The salary for this position ranges from $60,900 to $102,500, with an initial salary range of $60,900 to $78,500 depending on the candidate's experience and educational background.
- A signing bonus of $3,000 is available for the successful candidate.
