About the role
Masabi is on the lookout for a Technical Lead to steer the Passenger Apps team in the creation and deployment of native mobile and web applications. This position requires a blend of hands-on technical expertise and leadership capabilities, with a primary focus on the integration of the Justride SDK and public APIs. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that applications utilized by transit agencies worldwide are delivered with high quality and within set timelines.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Supervise the development and delivery of Passenger applications for iOS, Android, and the web, addressing challenges and ensuring consistent release timelines.
- Engage actively in the technical implementation process, participate in design discussions, and conduct thorough code reviews to uphold high engineering standards.
- Spearhead the integration of Masabi's Justride SDK and public APIs within Passenger applications, ensuring seamless functionality.
- Manage application migrations, oversee release management, plan rollouts, and coordinate deployment activities to ensure smooth transitions.
- Advocate for engineering practices that enhance efficient delivery and collaboration within the team.
- Mentor and guide a team of engineers through regular one-on-one sessions, offering coaching, performance evaluations, and constructive feedback.
- Cultivate an environment that encourages engineers to grow, develop their skills, and excel in their roles.
- Work closely with Product and Engineering stakeholders to align project priorities, delivery schedules, and team objectives.
- Promote a collaborative and inclusive culture within the team, fostering open communication and teamwork.
- Participate in recruitment, onboarding, and team development initiatives as necessary to support team growth.
- Maintain transparency regarding delivery progress, potential risks, and dependencies to keep stakeholders informed.
Requirements
- A robust background as a hands-on engineer, with expertise in at least one native platform (Swift/UIKit or Kotlin/Coroutines) and the ability to work proficiently across both.
- Proven experience in leading technical delivery for engineering teams, ensuring high standards through code reviews and design oversight.
- Direct experience in managing and developing engineering talent, including conducting one-on-one meetings, coaching, and providing constructive feedback.
- Familiarity with multi-tenant or white-label products that cater to various customer requirements from a unified codebase.
- Experience in delivering and enhancing production applications, including undertaking migration or modernization projects.
- Knowledge of SDK and API integrations, with practical experience in implementing them.
- Comfortable utilizing AI-assisted development tools and demonstrating their integration into engineering workflows.
- A calm and effective communicator who keeps stakeholders updated and can balance technical responsibilities with leadership tasks.
Nice to have
- Understanding of release management, rollout strategies, and deployment processes to ensure smooth application launches.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and engineering quality practices that enhance the development lifecycle.
- Experience in participating in hiring, onboarding, or team growth initiatives to foster a strong team dynamic.
- Previous experience in the Fintech or Transit sectors, providing insights into industry-specific challenges and solutions.

Practical notes
This position is based in Poland and offers a full-time engagement on a fixed-term contract lasting up to 12 months.
