About the role
This opportunity centers on owning the complete accounting lifecycle for a brand integrity platform operating at the intersection of AI and global commerce. You will architect financial infrastructure and lead operations under demanding timelines while ensuring every transaction is accurately captured and reported. The position is based in San Francisco, requiring three days onsite weekly, and candidates must reside in the SF Bay Area or relocate before starting. You will translate complex financial data into clear insights for stakeholders, driving decisions that protect the business and fuel sustainable growth. The role demands a proactive approach to solving unstructured problems while building resilient systems that can scale internationally. You will partner closely with executive leadership to align financial strategy with business objectives.

What you'll do
- Execute the full scope of financial operations for a high-growth brand integrity platform, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all accounting functions.
- Architect and implement scalable financial infrastructure to support rapid international expansion and evolving business models.
- Lead the design of financial systems and workflows, focusing on process efficiency and control integrity across the finance technology suite.
- Own the end-to-end month-end and year-end close processes, managing consolidation procedures and intercompany eliminations with precision and timeliness.
- Manage foreign subsidiary structures and oversee transfer pricing policies to ensure compliance and optimize financial performance.
- Mitigate currency risk and actively manage exposure across multiple FX pairs to protect the company's financial position.
- Define and own technical accounting policies, with a primary focus on revenue recognition under ASC 606 and adaptation for hybrid business models.
- Supervise general ledger integrity and accuracy, including journal entries and comprehensive account reconciliation across US and international entities.
- Prepare detailed internal reports and custom analysis to support rapid leadership decision-making and strategic planning initiatives.
- Oversee compliance for international, federal, state, and local tax matters in partnership with external advisors and regulatory bodies.
- Handle all associated regulatory filings and ensure timely submission and adherence to jurisdictional requirements.
- Manage the financial systems roadmap, guiding ERP implementation and oversight of the finance technology suite to align with growth objectives.
- Lead audit preparations and processes, serving as the main contact for external auditors to ensure audits conclude efficiently and accurately.
- Translate complex financial data into clear insights for non-finance audiences, making concepts understandable without losing precision.
- Exercise strong judgment and take decisive action in ambiguous, fast-moving situations while maintaining a high standard of accuracy.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution.
- Maintain active CPA certification to demonstrate advanced knowledge and commitment to the profession.
- Bring over 10 years of progressive accounting experience in increasingly complex environments.
- Possess deep technical accounting expertise, including mastery of ASC 606 and SaaS metrics for accurate revenue recognition.
- Have a documented history of creating accounting operations, including building policies, systems, and processes in fast-paced, high-growth settings.
- Demonstrate hands-on experience with NetSuite, including configuration, customization, and optimization for scalable financial operations.
- Comfortably work across multiple time zones and collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners globally in a distributed environment.
- Communicate clearly and concisely, distilling intricate accounting topics for stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
- Exercise strong judgment and take decisive action in situations with limited information or rapidly shifting priorities.
- Maintain meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial reporting, reconciliations, and compliance activities.
- Thrive in a dynamic, high-growth environment where priorities evolve quickly and adaptability is essential.
