About the role
This Senior Account Manager role is centered on owning the full relationship lifecycle with Marqeta's most strategic global customers. You will be responsible for driving revenue expansion and deepening trust within a portfolio of enterprise clients in the payments ecosystem. The position requires you to act as the primary point of contact, aligning internal product and engineering teams to solve complex client challenges. Success in this role will be defined by your ability to translate client business objectives into tailored solutions using Marqeta's card issuing and processing capabilities. You will leverage deep FinTech expertise to advise clients on financial services disruption and market opportunities. The role demands consistent quota attainment through disciplined forecasting and pipeline management. What you'll do
Proactively manage and expand strategic client portfolios to ensure alignment with Marqeta's growth objectives.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders to deliver tailored solutions that respond to the evolving business priorities of global customers.
Facilitate cross-functional initiatives that connect internal teams with external banking partners to drive innovation.
Apply comprehensive FinTech knowledge to advise clients on financial services disruption and strategic positioning.
Support critical card issuing and processing submissions and participate in high-level business reviews.
Utilize data-driven strategies during business reviews to manage multi-region stakeholders and global accounts effectively.
Develop and execute strategic account plans that address complex enterprise needs and identify new revenue opportunities.
Maintain rigorous forecasting and pipeline hygiene to ensure consistent quota attainment and predictable revenue.
Act as the central liaison between Marqeta and key client stakeholders to resolve issues and uncover new use cases.
Champion Marqeta's mission to change the way money moves by demonstrating the value of embedded finance solutions.
Build long-term client trust through consistent follow-through, transparency, and outcome-focused collaboration.
Adapt quickly to new regulations, product updates, and market trends within the fintech and payments landscape.
Requirements
Bring a minimum of 5 years of proven experience in Global Enterprise Account Management within the payments industry.
Demonstrate strong communication skills, including interpersonal, verbal, presentation, and written abilities across diverse cultures.
Show a proven track record of creating, executing, and owning strategic account plans for enterprise clients.
Exhibit a clear understanding of industry trends, competitive landscape, and market dynamics affecting global payments.
Possess first-hand knowledge of fintech, banking, or payments environments and their operational nuances.
Maintain a positive, adaptable, and resourceful mindset while thriving in team-oriented, fast-paced settings.
Show technical aptitude to understand and explain complex financial concepts in a straightforward and actionable manner.
Have direct experience with high-growth fintechs and financial services companies at an enterprise level.
Demonstrate documented experience in card issuing and processing workflows and regulations.
