You will architect and evolve the secure, scalable systems that power Magna Legal Services' Records business, ensuring robust performance and reliability for client-facing solutions. What you'll do
Investigate and resolve complex technical issues affecting the Records platform, implementing efficient and maintainable solutions.
Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies and AI-assisted tools to enhance development practices and application capabilities.
Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define technical requirements and align software roadmaps with business objectives.
Design and develop new features for the Records management system, focusing on scalability, performance, and security.
Refactor legacy code to improve maintainability, reliability, and overall system health.
Implement automated testing strategies and ensure high code quality through rigorous code reviews.
Optimize application performance, identifying and eliminating bottlenecks in data processing and user workflows.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for systems, APIs, and processes.
Partner with DevOps engineers to streamline deployment pipelines and enhance infrastructure reliability.
Analyze system metrics and user feedback to inform continuous improvements and new feature exploration.
Contribute to the development of APIs that enable seamless data exchange between Records and other Magna business units.
Support the implementation of data integrity and security best practices across the Records application lifecycle.
Explore and prototype innovative solutions to address specific business challenges within the Records domain.
Mentor engineering peers and contribute to technical discussions that shape the architecture of future products.
Participate in on-call rotations to ensure timely response to critical production incidents.
Requirements
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
You must have a minimum of eight years of professional software development experience in a relevant field.
Demonstrated expertise in building and maintaining secure, scalable applications using modern programming languages is essential.
You should have a strong proficiency in at least one object-oriented language such as Java, C#, or Python.
A solid understanding of software development lifecycle, including version control, testing methodologies, and deployment practices, is required.
Experience working with relational databases and writing efficient SQL queries is mandatory.
You must have a proven track record of collaborating effectively in agile team environments.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex issues in distributed systems are critical for success in this role.
