About the role
Lucid Motors is seeking a Global Supply Manager to take charge of the Seats and Cover Stocks commodity group. This role acts as the key business owner for a designated supplier portfolio and serves as the essential link among various departments, including Engineering, Finance, Logistics, Quality, and Manufacturing. You will be instrumental in defining the global supply chain strategy, guiding cross-functional teams through the development and industrialization phases, and making critical commercial decisions throughout the entire product lifecycle.

What you'll do
- Collaborate closely with Engineering and Supplier Quality teams to identify and evaluate suppliers that align with Lucid's standards and project timelines.
- Develop and issue Requests for Quotations (RFQs), assess supplier bids, and formulate sourcing recommendations that effectively balance cost, quality, lead times, and technical compatibility.
- Engage in contract negotiations that encompass part pricing, tooling investments, and engineering services, including Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) and Engineering Development Testing (EDT).
- Work in tandem with suppliers and Engineering to facilitate the transition of parts into production, including issuing purchase orders for prototype components and tooling.
- Monitor supplier development timelines, ensuring that parts are available for prototype builds and production launches, while addressing any timing or quality challenges that arise.
- Act as the primary commercial liaison for suppliers, providing internal stakeholders with updates on sourcing progress, availability, and cost-related matters.
- Travel between 15 to 25 percent of the time for supplier visits, business reviews, and program status checks to ensure alignment and address any issues directly.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, supply chain management, or finance, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Engineering; alternatively, a Master's degree with at least 1 year of relevant experience is acceptable. Equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Experience in automotive purchasing, supply chain management, or engineering, particularly in areas related to Interior Trims or Cover Stocks, such as instrument panels, door trims, center consoles, seating, wood decor, painted parts, wrapped components, NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness), or carpeting.
- Demonstrated analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with a strong ability to navigate complex situations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, combined with strong organizational and program management capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Word, and ERP systems like SAP or similar platforms.
Nice to have
- Practical experience with manufacturing processes, including injection molding, cut and sew wrapping and assembly, compression molding, cover stocks, Class-A painted surfaces, and plastic chroming.
- Familiarity with product launch processes, including an understanding of quality principles, product development methodologies, and data analysis techniques.
- Proven ability to manage intricate supplier relationships, effectively navigate unexpected challenges, and resolve disputes while fostering positive partnerships.

- Expertise in creating RFQs and analyzing quotations from suppliers.
- Proficient in contract negotiations concerning parts, tooling, and engineering services.
- Skilled in supplier development and timeline management to ensure project milestones are met.
- Capable of coordinating across various functions, including Engineering, Quality, Finance, Logistics, and Manufacturing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Project, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Familiar with ERP systems, particularly SAP, for managing supply chain operations.
