About the role

This role provides high-level legal strategy and operational oversight for the global supply chain supporting Long Wall Company's missile defense programs. The hire owns the end-to-end management of supplier contracting, compliance frameworks, and risk mitigation initiatives across the full vendor ecosystem. They will serve as the primary legal advisor to engineering, manufacturing, and logistics teams on all matters related to sourcing, procurement, and distribution. The position requires navigating complex international regulations while ensuring that all supply chain activities align with the company's mission of delivering lower cost, higher performing defensive technology. The Sr. Corporate Counsel will lead negotiations for critical materials and components essential to containerized missile defense systems. They will also establish and enforce policies that promote quality, security, and ethical standards across all tiers of the supply base. This role is instrumental in safeguarding the company against supply chain disruptions, regulatory penalties, and operational liabilities. By integrating legal expertise with deep operational understanding, the counsel ensures that mission-critical delivery timelines are met without compromising compliance or integrity.

What you'll do

Orchestrate the development and implementation of supplier contracts that govern the acquisition of propulsion systems, structural components, and specialized electronics for missile defense interceptors.

Champion the establishment of a robust supplier qualification program that evaluates financial stability, technical capability, and regulatory adherence for all critical vendors.

Negotiate and finalize Master Service Agreements and Statements of Work that define performance metrics, acceptance criteria, and liability allocations for flight test hardware providers.

Lead cross-functional reviews of sourcing strategies to balance cost objectives with the stringent reliability requirements of RS1 and GS0 launch system derivatives.

Draft and interpret complex logistics and distribution agreements ensuring the secure, timely, and compliant movement of containerized systems to global test sites and operational hubs.

Implement contract lifecycle management processes that track obligations, renewal dates, and compliance milestones to mitigate administrative risk across the portfolio.

Collaborate with Quality Assurance teams to codify acceptance standards and inspection protocols within contractual documents for manufactured parts and subassemblies.

Partner with Procurement and Finance to develop vendor risk assessment frameworks that address cybersecurity, export controls, and sanctions screening for international suppliers.

Coordinate with Regulatory Affairs to ensure all supply chain activities comply with ITAR, EAR, and other relevant export control regulations governing defense technologies.

Drive the creation of contingency and resiliency plans that identify alternative sourcing options for mission-critical components subject to geopolitical or supply constraints.

Authorize the legal documentation required for rapid prototyping and low-cost flight testing initiatives, ensuring flexibility without sacrificing vendor accountability.

Serve as the escalation point for legal and compliance issues arising from supplier performance, intellectual property disputes, or contract breaches affecting delivery schedules.

Requirements

Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or at any time during the employment period.

Must reside in or be willing to relocate to Long Beach, California, to perform the role in person on a consistent basis.

Must possess a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school and current admission to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

Must have a demonstrated history of managing complex commercial contracts in the aerospace, defense, or high-tech manufacturing sectors.

Must have direct experience with U.S. export control regulations, including ITAR and EAR, and the ability to apply these rules to supply chain decisions.

Must have strong familiarity with government procurement processes and the unique requirements of defense contractors working on missile programs.

Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills necessary for drafting precise legal language and advising non-legal stakeholders.

Must be able to manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and adherence to contractual deadlines.

Nice to have

Experience with containerized military systems or rapid deployment platforms would be advantageous for understanding the specific requirements of the role.

Familiarity with mass-producible defense architectures and low-cost flight testing methodologies would provide additional context for supplier negotiations.
