Long Wall Company was founded in 2024 to accelerate missile defense technology for the U.S. and our allies. Building on the RS1 and GS0 launch systems, Long Wall develops containerized, mass-producible missile defense systems and offers rapid, low-cost flight testing. This CNC Machinist role is integral to that effort, directly supporting the production of flight hardware for our missile defense programs.
What you'll do
You will execute precise machining operations on a variety of aerospace-grade materials including aluminum, copper, Inconel, plastic, steel, and stainless steel to produce critical rocket components. This role requires you to think critically and apply problem-solving skills to improve manufacturing processes and ensure operational excellence. You will be responsible for learning, setting up, and maintaining Haas CNC machines and metal 3D printers to enable safe and repeatable production. You will work directly with raw billet material and additively manufactured parts to create flight-ready hardware. Your attention to detail will be essential in maintaining the high standards required for missile defense technology. You will collaborate closely with engineering and quality teams to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement. This position offers clear growth opportunities for advancement into various Machine Shop roles as your expertise develops. You will play a key role in supporting the manufacturing operations for a rocket and its peripheral assemblies.

What you'll do (expanded)
Operate Haas CNC machines and metal 3D printers to manufacture rocket parts from aluminum, copper, Inconel, plastic, steel, and stainless steel. Interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications to ensure all parts meet strict quality and safety standards. Set up and configure tooling, fixtures, and workholding devices to align with production requirements and process improvements. Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on machining equipment to uphold machine reliability and uptime. Apply critical thinking to identify process inefficiencies and implement improvements that enhance manufacturing throughput. Inspect finished components using precision measurement tools to verify conformance to technical requirements. Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment that supports high standards of quality and compliance. Document production activities, material usage, and process observations to support traceability and continuous improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and support the rapid development of missile defense systems. Contribute to the preparation and execution of standard work procedures to ensure consistent and repeatable manufacturing results.

This is a full-time position based in El Segundo, California. The role may require occasional travel to support testing or manufacturing initiatives as needed.
