Collaboration is central to the role, as the estimator leads and mentors other estimators while coordinating closely with vendors, subcontractors, and the operations team to develop precise Bills of Materials and optimized Scope of Work. This position owns the preparation of Pricing Proposals, Value Engineering initiatives, and trend logs that support continuous improvement across the preconstruction function. The Senior Electrical Estimator owns the project budget, risk management activities, and ongoing communication with clients and engineers to preserve strong relationships and secure repeat business. Ultimately, this role owns the successful delivery of estimates that balance technical accuracy with commercial viability, directly supporting the delivery of critical infrastructure solutions across the national footprint.

• Analyze design documents and project scopes to generate comprehensive electrical estimates for water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Identify and resolve design discrepancies, scope ambiguities, and potential constructability issues before they impact project delivery.
• Prepare detailed estimates covering setup through full completion, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with project objectives.
• Utilize Accubid Anywhere software to manage project setup, perform takeoffs, and review bid documents for deficiencies or opportunities.
• Lead, mentor, and collaborate with cross-functional estimators to uphold quality standards and share best practices across the team.
• Engage with vendors and subcontractors to validate Bills of Materials and ensure that scope documentation is complete and current.
• Draft Scope of Work documents that clearly articulate requirements, deliverables, and compliance expectations for electrical systems.
• Develop Pricing Proposals that reflect market conditions, risk profiles, and strategic objectives while remaining competitive.
• Drive Value Engineering efforts that optimize cost and performance without compromising reliability or regulatory compliance.
• Create and maintain trend logs that capture historical data, support forecasting, and inform future estimating decisions.
• Manage project budgets rigorously, monitoring costs against projections and implementing corrective actions as needed.
• Proactively manage project risk by evaluating exposure, documenting assumptions, and recommending mitigation strategies.
• Evaluate constructability factors and recommend design changes that improve efficiency, safety, and cost effectiveness.
• Coordinate with the operations team to identify optimal solutions and support timely design modifications when required.
• Participate in design meetings and client interactions, representing preconstruction expertise and safeguarding project interests.

Requirements

• Candidate must have five or more years of electrical estimating experience. Project Management experience is also preferred.
• Excellent quantitative and analytical skills are mandatory for success in this role.
• Possess basic understanding of the electrical industry, specifically in Water and Wastewater applications.
• Candidate must have an entrepreneurial approach to problem solving and the ability to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously.
• Possess excellent written and oral communication skills, including the willingness to pick up the phone and engage directly with stakeholders.
• Willingness to learn from others at all levels of the organization and to apply new knowledge quickly.
• Self-Motivated, organized, detail oriented, and consistent in meeting deadlines and quality standards.
