What you'll do
- Design and implement individualized strength and conditioning programs for athletes and military personnel, focusing on performance enhancement and injury prevention.
- Conduct thorough assessments of clients' physical capabilities to establish baseline metrics and track progress over time.
- Collaborate with sports coaches, medical staff, and other professionals to create comprehensive training regimens that align with overall performance goals.
- Lead group training sessions, providing motivation and guidance to ensure participants are engaged and performing exercises safely and effectively.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, making necessary adjustments based on clients' progress and feedback.
- Educate clients on proper nutrition and recovery strategies to complement their training efforts and optimize performance.
- Stay current with the latest research and trends in strength and conditioning, integrating new techniques and methodologies into training programs as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records of client progress, training sessions, and assessments to inform future programming and demonstrate outcomes.
- Foster a positive and encouraging training environment that promotes teamwork, discipline, and personal growth among clients.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior staff and interns, helping to develop the next generation of strength and conditioning professionals.
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in the field of strength and conditioning.
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and regulations during training sessions to maintain a safe environment for all participants.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Sports Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in strength and conditioning coaching, preferably within a military or athletic setting.
- Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) or equivalent certification is required.
- Strong understanding of exercise physiology, biomechanics, and nutrition principles.
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective training programs tailored to diverse populations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with clients and team members.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate client schedules.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in tracking client progress and program effectiveness.
- Familiarity with injury prevention and rehabilitation strategies is a plus.
- First Aid and CPR certification is preferred.

- Experience working with military personnel or in a tactical strength and conditioning environment.
- Knowledge of sport-specific training techniques for various athletic disciplines.
