About the role
The Data Scientist
Consumer Analytics, Forecasting at Lingaro Group is responsible for owning end-to-end analytical initiatives that bridge business strategy with data-driven execution. In this capacity, you will lead the cycle of business understanding, data preparation, modeling, evaluation, and deployment to generate actionable insights. You will analyze complex datasets, interpret findings accurately, and draw conclusions that inform strategic decision-making across the organization. This role involves defining requirements, building robust models, and presenting recommendations that quantify business impact and return on investment. You will also engage in pre-sales activities at a senior consultant level, communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Ultimately, you will drive measurable improvements by transforming data into reliable forecasts and operational guidance.

What you'll do
You will architect and execute data science workflows from initial problem framing to production deployment. You will design experiments and validation strategies that ensure model reliability and business relevance. You will develop advanced forecasting models that capture seasonality, trends, and external influences with high accuracy. You will implement model hyperparameter tuning using systematic search strategies to optimize performance metrics. You will construct model validation frameworks that test robustness across different data slices and time periods. You will gather business requirements and translate them into a clear technical plan for data processing and analysis. You will perform feature engineering to create meaningful predictors that enhance model power and interpretability. You will evaluate models using statistical metrics and business KPIs to confirm alignment with objectives. You will document methodologies and results to enable reproducibility and knowledge transfer. You will lead pre-sales activities, crafting data-driven narratives that support solution proposals and client discussions.
Requirements
You need commercial experience with various classical data science and Machine Learning (ML) models such as decision trees, ensemble-based tree models, and linear regression. You need fluency in Python and a basic working knowledge of SQL to manipulate data and implement analyses. You need solid experience in at least one of the major cloud computing platforms such as Databricks, GCP, or Azure. You need familiarity with customer analytics data science concepts or advanced forecasting techniques to address real-world business problems. You need experience with model validation frameworks that ensure performance consistency and reduce overfitting. You need the ability to convert business requirements into a structured technical plan covering data processing and feature engineering. You need strong attention to detail to ensure data quality, correct transformations, and reliable model outputs. Previous experience in an analytical role supporting business strategy will be a significant advantage. You need knowledge of specific data science and machine learning libraries commonly used in Python ecosystems.
Nice to have
It helps if you have an understanding of causal machine learning methods and their application to business problems. Experience in working with big data and distributed computing environments would be a valuable addition to your skill set. Proven commercial experience in forecasting demonstrated by multiple successful projects would be a substantial advantage.
