Join our engineering squad in TLV to develop and scale the backend infrastructure for our Home insurance products. What you'll do
- Architect and implement backend services for the Home insurance product suite using a microservices architecture built on TypeScript and NestJS.
- Design and maintain resilient APIs that facilitate communication between frontend applications, internal services, and third-party integrations.
- Take end-to-end ownership of the software development lifecycle, utilizing our internal autonomous tools for environment provisioning, continuous integration, and production deployment.
- Collaborate with QA engineers to define comprehensive test strategies, ensuring that new features meet stringent quality and reliability standards before release.
- Work alongside data specialists to integrate analytical pipelines, enabling data-driven decisions and performance monitoring for deployed features.
- Partner with machine learning experts to incorporate predictive models and intelligent capabilities into insurance workflows and customer interactions.
- Champion technical excellence by identifying bottlenecks, optimizing system performance, and ensuring that services can withstand heavy load and traffic spikes.
- Contribute to the evolution of engineering best practices by proposing improvements to code reviews, documentation standards, and deployment procedures.
- Mentor junior developers through code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge-sharing sessions to elevate the overall skill level of the team.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies, evaluating their potential adoption within our stack to maintain a competitive advantage.
- Drive initiatives that enhance observability, logging, and monitoring to streamline troubleshooting and reduce downtime.
- Act as a technical owner for specific service domains, ensuring alignment between technical implementation and business outcomes.
- Support on-call responsibilities and incident response procedures to maintain system stability and customer trust.
- Lead proof-of-concept projects to validate new ideas and demonstrate feasibility before committing to large-scale implementation.
Requirements
- Possess a minimum of 3 years of professional backend engineering experience in a production environment.
- Hold a BSc degree in Mathematics or Computer Science, or demonstrate equivalent practical experience through a strong portfolio and work history.
- Show a strong grasp of backend architecture patterns, frameworks, and modern development tools essential for scalable software systems.
- Have practical experience with TypeScript or other strongly-typed programming languages, with a solid understanding of type systems and design principles.
- Provide a proven track record of building production systems that handle significant scale, performance requirements, and real-world traffic loads.
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively use AI-assisted coding tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or Claude Code to enhance testing, refactoring, and development speed.
- Exhibit willingness to work from the office on most days of the week to ensure seamless collaboration and team cohesion.
- Display strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to debug complex issues in distributed systems under time pressure.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders during cross-team discussions.
- Take responsibility for maintaining code quality, writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented software artifacts.
