What you'll do
- Design and implement comprehensive training programs tailored to various technical roles within the organization, ensuring alignment with company objectives and industry standards.
- Conduct engaging training sessions, workshops, and hands-on demonstrations to facilitate learning and skill development among employees.
- Assess the training needs of staff through surveys, interviews, and performance evaluations to identify knowledge gaps and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and operational leaders to create relevant training materials, including manuals, presentations, and e-learning modules.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics, making necessary adjustments to enhance outcomes.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and best practices to ensure training content remains current and relevant.
- Provide one-on-one coaching and support to employees as needed, helping them to apply new skills in their daily tasks.
- Facilitate onboarding training for new hires, ensuring they are well-acquainted with company policies, procedures, and technical expectations.
- Organize and lead refresher courses for existing employees to reinforce knowledge and introduce new technologies or processes.
- Develop and maintain a training database to track employee progress, certifications, and training completion rates.
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages participation, collaboration, and knowledge sharing among team members.
- Prepare reports on training activities, outcomes, and recommendations for management to support strategic decision-making.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a training or instructional role, preferably within a technical or engineering environment, with a minimum of 3 years in a similar position.
- Strong understanding of training methodologies and adult learning principles, with the ability to adapt approaches to suit diverse learning styles.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical information in an accessible manner.
- Proficiency in using various training tools and technologies, including Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning platforms.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and engage with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous professional development.
- Relevant certifications in training or instructional design are advantageous.

- Experience in the utilities or construction sector, particularly in areas related to water, wastewater, or civil engineering.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations and practices within the industry.
- Previous experience in developing e-learning content or utilizing virtual training tools.
