About the role
Bamboohr is currently seeking a dedicated Streetworks Coordinator to join their team and manage streetworks operations across the Leyland area. This role is central to the planning and execution of road and utility works, ensuring that all projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. The coordinator will act as the primary liaison between field crews, local authorities, and utility providers throughout the duration of each project. The position is fully based in Leyland, Lancashire, and is offered as a full-time role within the company.

What you'll do
- Coordinate and oversee daily streetworks activities across multiple project sites within the Leyland and surrounding areas
- Schedule and assign work crews to ensure all streetwork tasks are completed efficiently and on time
- Liaise with local councils and utility companies to secure necessary permits and approvals for planned works
- Monitor ongoing projects on site to ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations at all times
- Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation including work plans, risk assessments, and completion reports for each job
- Communicate regularly with field teams to address emerging issues and adjust work schedules as project needs change
- Track overall project progress and provide status updates to management through written reports and verbal briefings
- Ensure all streetworks meet established quality standards and are aligned with agreed project timelines and specifications
- Manage resource allocation including equipment, materials, and personnel assignments to support efficient completion of each work package
- Coordinate traffic management plans and road closure schedules to minimize disruption to the public during streetworks
- Review contractor performance and provide feedback to ensure standards are maintained across all streetwork operations
- Maintain accurate records of all streetwork activities including costs, materials used, and hours worked by each crew
Requirements
- Proven experience in streetworks coordination or a closely related construction and civil engineering management field
- Strong working knowledge of local authority procedures for road works, utility installations, and associated permitting processes
- Excellent organizational skills with the demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities effectively
- Effective communication abilities for collaborating with diverse teams, contractors, and external stakeholders across various project settings
- Thorough familiarity with health and safety legislation and regulations applicable to streetworks and public realm operations
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, work specifications, and site plans accurately to guide field teams properly
- Willingness to work on-site as needed and visit various streetwork project locations throughout the Leyland area
- Strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to address unexpected challenges that arise during active streetwork projects
- Experience with project management methodologies and the use of scheduling tools to plan and track works
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams and maintain productive working relationships with council officials and utility operators
Nice to have
- Experience with traffic management certification or related formal training programs in highway and street works
- Knowledge of utility mapping systems and underground asset databases used for planning and coordination purposes
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience in the construction sector with a focus on streetworks
- Understanding of environmental regulations and best practices related to streetworks, ground disturbance, and surface restoration
- Familiarity with drainage systems and water network infrastructure is considered a valuable additional qualification
