About the role

As a PWT/Site Person In Charge at Lanes Group, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing site operations and ensuring that projects are executed efficiently and safely. This position requires a strong focus on quality control, compliance with health and safety regulations, and effective team management. You will be responsible for coordinating various aspects of site activities, ensuring that work is completed on time and within budget while maintaining the highest standards of service.

What you'll do

Lead and manage site operations, ensuring that all activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and industry standards.
Supervise and coordinate the work of site teams, providing guidance and support to ensure optimal performance and productivity.
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor compliance with health and safety regulations, identifying and addressing any potential hazards.
Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepare and maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily reports, incident reports, and project documentation.
Implement quality control measures to ensure that all work meets the required specifications and standards.
Manage site resources, including equipment and materials, to ensure they are used efficiently and effectively.
Assist in the planning and scheduling of site activities, ensuring that deadlines are met and resources are allocated appropriately.
Provide training and development opportunities for site staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
Monitor project budgets and expenditures, identifying any discrepancies and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Participate in project meetings, providing updates on site progress and addressing any issues that may arise.
Ensure that all site operations are conducted in an environmentally responsible manner, adhering to sustainability practices.

Requirements

Proven experience in site management or a similar role within the construction or utilities industry.
Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Proficiency in using project management software and tools to track progress and manage resources.

Nice to have

Relevant certifications in health and safety, such as NEBOSH or IOSH.
Experience in working with water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
Familiarity with environmental regulations and sustainability practices in construction.

Skills & tools

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify issues and implement effective solutions.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Familiarity with project management software, such as MS Project or similar tools.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Practical notes

This position is based in Highgate, Middlesex, and may require occasional travel to project sites.
The salary for this role will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK and may require a valid work visa, depending on their nationality.
