What you'll do

• Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines to ensure the efficient processing and storage of large datasets.
• Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand their data requirements and deliver high-quality datasets for analysis.
• Implement data quality checks and monitoring systems to ensure the integrity and accuracy of data.
• Optimize existing data processes for performance and scalability, identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions.
• Design and implement ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to integrate data from various sources into our data warehouse.

• Participate in the architecture and design of our data infrastructure, contributing to strategic decisions about data technologies and tools.
• Document data processes, architectures, and workflows to maintain clear communication within the team and across departments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues, providing timely support to internal stakeholders.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in data engineering, continuously seeking opportunities to enhance our data capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
• Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python or Java, with experience in data processing frameworks like Apache Spark or Apache Beam.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, particularly in relation to data storage and processing services.
• Experience with data modeling and data warehousing concepts, including dimensional modeling and star schema design.
• Understanding of data governance and data privacy regulations, ensuring compliance in all data handling practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop or Kafka.
• Knowledge of machine learning concepts and frameworks, enabling collaboration with data science teams.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI, enhancing the ability to present data insights effectively.
