What you'll do

Design and implement robust backend services using modern programming languages and frameworks, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic, creating seamless user experiences.
Develop and maintain RESTful APIs that serve as the backbone of our applications, ensuring they are secure, efficient, and well-documented.
Optimize existing backend systems for performance, scalability, and reliability, addressing any technical debt and improving overall system architecture.
Conduct code reviews to ensure best practices are followed and maintain high-quality code standards across the team.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner, ensuring minimal disruption to service and user experience.
Participate in agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives, to foster a collaborative team environment.
Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending improvements and innovations that can enhance our backend infrastructure.
Mentor junior developers, providing guidance and support to help them grow their skills and contribute effectively to the team.
Collaborate with product managers to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for backend development.
Implement monitoring and logging solutions to track system performance and identify potential issues before they impact users.
Ensure compliance with security best practices and data protection regulations, safeguarding sensitive information handled by our systems.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in backend development, with a strong focus on building scalable web applications.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Node.js, with a solid understanding of their respective frameworks.
Experience working with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
Familiarity with RESTful API design and development, including best practices for versioning and documentation.
Strong understanding of software development methodologies, particularly Agile and Scrum.
Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Knowledge of version control systems, particularly Git, and experience with CI/CD pipelines.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

Experience in the fintech industry or working with financial applications.
Familiarity with microservices architecture and event-driven systems.
Knowledge of front-end technologies (e.g., React, Angular) to facilitate better collaboration with frontend teams.
Understanding of DevOps practices and tools for infrastructure automation.
Contributions to open-source projects or a strong portfolio of personal projects demonstrating your coding skills.
