What you'll do

• Design and implement scalable backend systems using modern programming languages and frameworks, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
• Collaborate with product managers, frontend developers, and other stakeholders to define system requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Optimize existing backend services for improved performance, reliability, and maintainability, while also identifying and addressing potential bottlenecks.
• Develop and maintain APIs that facilitate seamless communication between the backend and frontend systems, ensuring a smooth user experience.
• Implement security best practices to protect sensitive data and maintain compliance with industry regulations.
• Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the team.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to deployment and monitoring, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality software.
• Utilize cloud services and infrastructure to enhance system scalability and resilience, leveraging tools such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, collaborating with DevOps and support teams to ensure minimal downtime and disruption.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, proactively suggesting improvements and innovations to enhance our backend systems.
• Document technical processes and system architecture to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding of new team members.
• Engage in agile development practices, participating in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives to drive team efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in backend development, with a strong focus on building scalable and reliable systems.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, Python, Ruby, or Node.js, with a solid understanding of their ecosystems.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including but not limited to PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or DynamoDB.
• Familiarity with RESTful API design and development, as well as experience with GraphQL is a plus.
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies, particularly Agile and DevOps practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Experience with version control systems, particularly Git, and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
• Knowledge of cloud computing platforms and services, with experience in deploying and managing applications in the cloud.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• A passion for technology and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Nice to have

• Experience with microservices architecture and containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with message brokers and event-driven architectures, including tools like RabbitMQ or Apache Kafka.
• Previous experience in the fintech industry or working with financial services products is a significant advantage.
