What you'll do

• Design and implement scalable backend services that support Klar's financial products and services, ensuring high availability and performance.
• Collaborate with frontend developers and product managers to define and refine system architecture and API specifications.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to best practices in software development.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in production environments, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal user experience.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for backend systems, including architecture diagrams and API documentation.
• Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and retrospectives, to contribute to the team's overall productivity and effectiveness.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies, applying this knowledge to enhance existing systems and processes.
• Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and support to help them grow in their roles and advance their technical skills.
• Collaborate with the DevOps team to implement CI/CD pipelines and automate deployment processes for integration and delivery.
• Ensure compliance with security best practices and data protection regulations, safeguarding user information and maintaining trust.
• Analyze system performance metrics and optimize backend processes to improve response times and resource utilization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in backend development, preferably in a fintech or technology-driven environment.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js, with a strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
• Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis).
• Familiarity with RESTful API design and development, as well as experience with microservices architecture.
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies, particularly Agile and DevOps practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, including serverless architectures.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with message brokers (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka) and event-driven architectures.
• Previous experience in the financial services industry or with payment processing systems.
• Understanding of data privacy regulations such as GDPR and PCI-DSS compliance.
