Bamboohr is seeking an experienced Analytics Engineer to join our Credit team in Mexico City. In this role, you will be instrumental in transforming data into actionable insights that drive our credit products and strategies. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to enhance our understanding of customer behavior and improve our credit offerings. What you'll do

• Design and implement robust data models that support credit analytics and reporting needs.
• Collaborate with product managers and data scientists to identify key metrics and develop dashboards that provide insights into credit performance.
• Analyze large datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and anomalies that inform credit risk assessments and decision-making processes.
• Develop and maintain ETL processes to ensure data quality and integrity across various data sources.
• Create ad-hoc reports and visualizations to support strategic initiatives and operational improvements within the credit team.
• Work closely with engineering teams to optimize data pipelines and ensure efficient data flow for analytics purposes.
• Conduct A/B testing and other experimental designs to evaluate the impact of changes in credit products and policies.
• Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders, translating complex data insights into actionable strategies.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in analytics and credit risk management to continuously improve our methodologies.
• Mentor junior analysts and contribute to building a data-driven culture within the organization.
• Participate in cross-functional projects that require analytical support and contribute to the overall success of the company.
• Ensure compliance with data governance policies and maintain data privacy standards in all analytics activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in analytics, data engineering, or a similar role, preferably within the financial services or fintech industry.
• Proficiency in SQL for data manipulation and analysis, with experience in database management systems.
• Strong knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker to create insightful dashboards.
• Experience with programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis and statistical modeling.
• Familiarity with credit risk modeling and analytics concepts, including credit scoring and risk assessment methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex data insights to non-technical stakeholders.
• A proactive attitude towards learning and adapting to new technologies and methodologies in analytics.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Knowledge of machine learning techniques and their application in credit risk modeling.
• Familiarity with data governance frameworks and best practices in data management.
• Previous experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment.
• Fluency in both English and Spanish, enabling effective communication with diverse teams.
