What you'll do

• Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs that comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Collaborate with various departments to promote safety awareness and best practices throughout the organization.
• Provide training and resources to employees on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
• Prepare and maintain safety documentation, including reports, incident logs, and safety manuals.
• Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices to ensure the organization remains compliant and proactive in safety management.
• Serve as a liaison with regulatory agencies and external safety consultants, ensuring that all safety-related communications are clear and effective.
• Participate in safety committees and meetings, providing insights and recommendations for continuous improvement in safety performance.
• Monitor and analyze safety performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance safety outcomes.
• Assist in the development of emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure preparedness for various scenarios.
• Foster a culture of safety by encouraging employee engagement and feedback on safety initiatives and practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in safety management or a related role, preferably within the construction or manufacturing industries.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards, with the ability to interpret and apply them effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present safety information clearly to diverse audiences.
• Proven experience in conducting safety training and developing educational materials.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to assess risks and implement effective safety solutions.
• Certification in safety management (e.g., CSP, CIH, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills.
