What you'll do

• Create detailed shop drawings and fabrication plans for steel components, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
• Collaborate with engineers and architects to interpret design intent and resolve any discrepancies in project documentation.
• Review and analyze project specifications, drawings, and contracts to understand project requirements and deliverables.
• Utilize advanced software tools such as AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, or similar detailing software to produce high-quality models and drawings.
• Conduct thorough quality checks on your work and that of others to ensure all detailing meets industry standards and client expectations.
• Coordinate with project managers and other team members to establish timelines and deliverables for detailing tasks.
• Assist in the preparation of material take-offs and quantity estimates to support project budgeting and procurement processes.
• Stay updated on industry trends, codes, and best practices in steel detailing to continuously improve your skills and the quality of your work.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior detailers, fostering a collaborative and educational environment within the team.
• Participate in project meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and solutions related to steel detailing and fabrication.
• Ensure that all documentation is properly archived and maintained for future reference and compliance purposes.

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in steel detailing, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work on industrial projects.
• Proficiency in detailing software such as AutoCAD, Tekla Structures, or similar tools is essential.
• Solid understanding of structural engineering principles, steel fabrication processes, and industry standards.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address design challenges and discrepancies.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.

Nice to have
