What you'll do

• Lead the electrical design process for diverse projects, ensuring all designs align with client specifications and industry standards.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop comprehensive electrical systems that integrate seamlessly with overall project designs.
• Prepare detailed electrical drawings and specifications using industry-standard software, ensuring accuracy and clarity in all documentation.
• Conduct load calculations and system analyses to determine the appropriate electrical requirements for various projects.
• Review and approve shop drawings and submittals from contractors, providing guidance and clarification as necessary.
• Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continuously improve design processes and outcomes.
• Participate in project meetings and presentations, effectively communicating design concepts and addressing any client concerns.
• Mentor junior electrical designers and engineers, providing guidance and support to foster their professional development.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards throughout the design and implementation phases.
• Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring that all deliverables are completed on schedule and within financial constraints.
• Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and verify that installations align with design specifications.
• Collaborate with the project management team to identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design, preferably within the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry.
• Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations, including NEC and local building codes.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative solutions to complex design challenges.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
• Experience in leading design teams and mentoring junior staff is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with sustainable design practices and energy-efficient systems is a plus.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
• Experience with renewable energy systems, such as solar or wind power.
• Knowledge of building information modeling (BIM) processes and practices.
• Familiarity with project management software and tools.
• Previous experience in a client-facing role, with a proven track record of building strong client relationships.
