What you'll do
- Lead the design and development of electrical systems for a variety of projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to create integrated designs that meet project specifications and client needs.
- Conduct thorough analysis and simulations to validate electrical designs, identifying potential issues and proposing effective solutions.
- Oversee the preparation of technical documentation, including specifications, reports, and drawings, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
- Manage project timelines and budgets, coordinating with team members to ensure timely delivery of milestones and final outcomes.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and interns, fostering their professional development and enhancing team capabilities.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in electrical engineering technologies and methodologies, integrating new knowledge into project work.
- Participate in client meetings to present design concepts and address any technical inquiries, ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct site visits to monitor installation processes, ensuring that electrical systems are implemented according to design specifications and safety standards.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to select appropriate materials and equipment, negotiating with suppliers to achieve cost-effective solutions.
- Review and approve electrical designs and calculations prepared by junior engineers, ensuring adherence to best practices and quality standards.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering department, identifying areas for efficiency gains and process enhancements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a strong focus on building systems and infrastructure projects.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
- Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes and standards, including NEC, IEC, and local regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop innovative solutions.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- A proactive approach to project management, with a focus on delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.
