What you'll do
- Lead the design and development of engineering projects from concept through to completion, ensuring all designs are functional, efficient, and meet client specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, engineers, and architects, to create integrated design solutions.
- Utilize advanced design software and tools to produce detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation.
- Conduct thorough analyses of design proposals, including feasibility studies and cost estimates, to inform decision-making processes.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols throughout the design process.
- Mentor and guide junior designers and engineers, providing support and sharing expertise to foster their professional growth.
- Participate in client meetings to present design concepts, gather feedback, and make necessary adjustments to meet project goals.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in engineering design to continuously improve processes and outcomes.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, including design reports, project schedules, and budgets, to ensure transparency and accountability.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering design, preferably within the construction or infrastructure sectors.
- Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, design methodologies, and project management practices.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being able to take initiative and work independently.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and standards, including safety and environmental considerations.
- Experience with project budgeting and scheduling is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
Nice to have
- Master's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
- Experience with sustainable design practices and green building certifications (e.g., LEED).
- Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes and technologies.
- Previous experience in client-facing roles or business development within the engineering sector.
Skills & tools
- Advanced proficiency in engineering design software (AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks).
- Strong project management skills and familiarity with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Asana).
- Excellent presentation and visualization skills for conveying design concepts.
- Ability to conduct technical analyses and produce comprehensive reports.
