What you'll do
- Lead the development and execution of health programs tailored to the unique needs of the Rwandan population, ensuring alignment with national health policies and international best practices.
- Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations to foster partnerships that enhance the reach and effectiveness of health initiatives.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of health needs in various communities to identify gaps and opportunities for program development.
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of health programs, utilizing data-driven approaches to inform decision-making and improve service delivery.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for stakeholders, highlighting program progress, challenges, and outcomes to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Advocate for health policies that promote equity and access to care, working with local leaders to influence change at the community and national levels.
- Manage a team of health professionals, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and performance in delivering health services.
- Facilitate training sessions and workshops for health workers to ensure they are equipped with the latest knowledge and skills in public health practices.
- Stay abreast of emerging health trends and research, integrating new findings into program strategies to enhance effectiveness.
- Coordinate resource allocation and budgeting for health programs, ensuring efficient use of funds and compliance with organizational policies.
- Engage with community members to promote health education and awareness, fostering a culture of prevention and healthy living.
- Represent Bamboohr at health-related conferences and forums, sharing insights and experiences to contribute to the broader public health discourse.
Requirements
- A Master's degree in Public Health, Health Administration, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in health program management, preferably in a developing country context.
- Proven track record of successfully leading health initiatives and managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong understanding of the Rwandan health system, including key policies, stakeholders, and challenges.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in data analysis and program evaluation methodologies, with experience in using health information systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Kinyarwanda or French is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

- Experience working with international organizations or NGOs in health-related roles.
- Familiarity with grant writing and fundraising for health programs.
- Knowledge of health informatics and digital health solutions.
- Previous experience in capacity building and training health professionals.

- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights.
- Excellent presentation skills, with experience in public speaking and stakeholder engagement.

- This position is based in Kigali, Rwanda, and may require occasional travel to rural areas for program implementation and monitoring.
