What you'll do
- Oversee the entire procurement process for pharmaceutical products, from sourcing to delivery, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the company's goals, focusing on cost reduction and quality improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including supply chain, quality assurance, and finance, to ensure seamless operations and effective communication.
- Negotiate contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions, while maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities, reliability, and pricing structures.
- Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular evaluations to ensure adherence to quality standards and delivery timelines.
- Manage inventory levels to optimize stock availability while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
- Prepare and present procurement reports to senior management, highlighting key metrics, trends, and opportunities for improvement.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and market conditions that may impact procurement strategies and operations.
- Train and mentor junior procurement staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
- Implement and maintain procurement software tools to streamline processes and enhance data accuracy.
- Participate in industry conferences and networking events to build relationships and stay informed about best practices in pharmaceutical procurement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field; a master's degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, specifically within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
- Proven track record of successful contract negotiation and supplier management.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Familiarity with procurement software and tools, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing challenges.
