About the role
As the Managing Director for the Mid-Atlantic and Florida Region at J Street, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organization's strategic direction and enhancing its presence across these key areas. What you'll do
- Lead the strategic planning and execution of J Street's initiatives in the Mid-Atlantic and Florida regions, ensuring alignment with the organization's overall mission and objectives.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including elected officials, community organizations, and advocacy groups, to advance J Street's policy goals.
- Oversee the development and implementation of grassroots campaigns that engage local communities and raise awareness about critical issues related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
- Collaborate with the national leadership team to design and execute fundraising strategies that support regional programs and initiatives.
- Organize and facilitate events, workshops, and conferences that promote dialogue and education on relevant topics, fostering a culture of engagement and activism.
- Monitor and analyze political developments in the Mid-Atlantic and Florida regions, providing insights and recommendations to inform J Street's advocacy efforts.
- Manage a team of professionals dedicated to outreach, advocacy, and community engagement, providing mentorship and guidance to foster their professional growth.
- Develop and implement metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of regional programs and initiatives, adjusting strategies as needed to achieve desired outcomes.
- Represent J Street at public forums, conferences, and meetings, articulating the organization's positions and building support for its mission.
- Collaborate with other regional directors to share best practices and coordinate efforts across the organization, ensuring a unified approach to advocacy.
- Engage with media outlets to promote J Street's message and increase visibility within the community, leveraging various communication channels.

Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in advocacy, public policy, or related fields, with a strong understanding of the political landscape in the Mid-Atlantic and Florida regions.
- Proven track record of successful leadership and team management, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse group of individuals.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex issues clearly and persuasively to various audiences.
- Strong analytical skills, with the capacity to assess political developments and their implications for J Street's mission.
- Experience in grassroots organizing and community engagement, with a passion for building coalitions and mobilizing support.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans that achieve measurable results.
