Financial Analyst
Job description
About the role
You will own the end-to-end FP&A workflow for our franchise network, translating complex operational metrics into clear, board-ready narratives that inform how we invest across our growing studio footprint. You will partner directly with the Accounting team to strengthen month-end close discipline, validate data integrity, and ensure our financial reporting meets the rigor expected by both internal stakeholders and external partners. In this position, you will design and maintain the analytical frameworks that track unit economics, benchmarking key performance indicators against plan and actuals to highlight trends and outliers. You will build scenario models that evaluate the financial impact of new site selections, pricing adjustments, and rollout timelines, enabling data-driven decisions on where and how quickly we expand. You will collaborate with studio operators to interpret local performance, diagnose variance, and surface best practices that can be replicated across the system to lift franchisee profitability. You will own the development pipeline analysis, quantifying tradeoffs between growth velocity, capital deployment, and risk to support a disciplined approach to scaling the brand. You will establish and refine the dashboards and reporting cadence used by leadership and franchise partners, ensuring that insights are timely, reliable, and easy to act upon. You will contribute to special projects that connect financial outcomes with operational drivers, from marketing efficiency to equipment utilization, strengthening the feedback loop between strategy and execution.
Key facts
What you'll do
You will consolidate monthly financial results from studio partners, standardizing inputs so that performance can be compared consistently across locations and time periods. You will construct detailed variance analyses that isolate the root causes of revenue and cost deviations, translating those findings into practical recommendations for franchisees. You will refine unit economics models to capture contribution margin at the individual studio level, enabling clear visibility into which locations and membership tiers drive the strongest returns. You will coordinate with the Accounting team to ensure balance sheet integrity, reconciling key subsystems and validating that transaction-level detail supports the broader financial statements. You will design scenario planning tools that evaluate the profitability of opening, relocating, or renovating studios, incorporating assumptions about occupancy, labor, and local market conditions. You will lead cross-functional data requests, working with operations and marketing teams to extract, clean, and align datasets that feed into performance reviews and strategic discussions. You will develop cohort analyses that track how new studios perform over their first critical quarters, identifying inflection points and early indicators of long-term success. You will create repeatable reporting playbooks that document data sources, calculation logic, and ownership, so that insights remain consistent even as team members change. You will present complex findings in accessible formats, using clear visualizations and structured narratives that help non-financial stakeholders understand the implications of the data. You will maintain a living view of the development pipeline, tracking site prospects, lease progress, and capital commitments to support accurate forecasting and resource planning.
Requirements
You must hold a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a closely related quantitative field, with a demonstrated ability to apply statistical methods to business problems. You must bring previous experience in a financial planning, analysis, or controllership capacity, preferably in a multi-unit or franchise environment where data reliability is critical. You must be highly proficient in spreadsheet tools, with advanced skills in Excel or Google Sheets, including the ability to build complex models, automate routine calculations, and audit formulas for accuracy. You must have a strong command of data manipulation and visualization tools, with hands-on experience using platforms such as SQL, Looker, Tableau, or Power BI to turn raw data into clear dashboards. You must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain intricate financial concepts to non-specialist audiences in a concise, actionable manner. You must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting where priorities can shift quickly and you are expected to manage multiple deliverables without close supervision. You must demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, consistently delivering accurate analyses and questioning anomalies before they propagate into decision-making. You must be comfortable collaborating across functions, working alongside operators, marketers, and finance colleagues to align on definitions, assumptions, and interpretations of performance.
Nice to have
Experience with hospitality or fitness industry data sets, or familiarity with boutique service brands and their unique unit economics.
