About the role
Jellyfish is actively searching for a Design Director to take ownership of production and adaptation workflows within our Creative department, ensuring that all creative output meets the highest standards of quality and efficiency. In this capacity, you will manage a globally distributed team, guiding them through the complexities of delivering high-quality content for major international brands across numerous markets and time zones. You will be instrumental in integrating AI tools thoughtfully into our existing creative processes, leveraging technology to enhance productivity without compromising artistic integrity. The role requires a strategic mindset to translate brand objectives into cohesive visual narratives that resonate across diverse platforms and audiences. You will establish and maintain clear creative standards, ensuring consistency and excellence in every project we deliver. What you'll do
- Lead the conceptualization and execution of complex creative projects from initial ideation through final delivery, managing multiple concurrent campaigns.
- Oversee the production and adaptation of creative assets, ensuring all materials are optimized for various international markets and regulatory requirements.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of designers, providing clear direction, constructive feedback, and fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Integrate artificial intelligence tools and workflows into the creative process to enhance efficiency, reduce repetitive tasks, and explore new creative possibilities.
- Partner closely with account management and strategy teams to deeply understand brand objectives, target audiences, and market-specific challenges.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive style guides and creative standards to ensure brand consistency across all touchpoints and deliverables.
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activities to continuously evolve the creative capabilities of the department.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scopes, timelines, and resource allocation, ensuring successful on-time delivery.
- Conduct thorough quality checks on all creative outputs, ensuring they meet the high standards expected by clients and our internal benchmarks.
- Present creative concepts and rationales to internal teams and clients, articulating the strategy and vision behind each design decision.
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline workflows, reduce bottlenecks, and enhance the overall efficiency of the creative pipeline.
- Manage the budget and resource allocation for creative projects, ensuring cost-effective solutions without sacrificing quality.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning within the team, encouraging experimentation and the adoption of new tools and techniques.
- Serve as the primary creative authority for major accounts, representing Jellyfish's creative vision in all client interactions.
Requirements
- Possess 8+ years of professional experience in design leadership, specifically with global beauty brands, demonstrating a proven track record in this sector.
- Exhibit advanced proficiency in Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects, with a portfolio that clearly showcases mastery of these tools.
- Have a demonstrated interest and capability in advanced motion design, including 3D animation and video editing, to meet modern content demands.
- Bring background in managing international teams within a fast-paced agency setting, navigating diverse cultural and time zone challenges.
- Show deep knowledge of social media design principles and paid media best practices to create effective and platform-specific content.
- Proven ability to manage high-volume workloads and shifting priorities while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
