About the role
The hire will own the full cycle of inbound and outbound sales activities within the Inside Sales division, driving qualified opportunities to closure while maintaining precise records in all systems. They will own the daily responsibility of conducting virtual product demonstrations, translating complex platform features into clear value propositions for a global education audience. This role owns the qualification and filtering of leads to ensure the sales pipeline remains robust and actionable for the broader team. The hire will own the timely processing and logging of all sales interactions, ensuring no opportunity falls through the cracks due to administrative delay. They will own the analysis of customer requirements and match them to appropriate IXL Learning solutions, positioning the product effectively. This position requires consistent follow-up and ownership of the sales funnel to identify growth opportunities that directly support team attainment. The hire will own the communication of IXL's value proposition to new and existing global users, ensuring messaging remains consistent and compelling. Finally, they will own the meticulous data input necessary for forecasting, reporting, and strategic planning, acting as a reliable steward of the sales process.

What you'll do
Conduct cold outbound calls to source new leads and qualify their needs for the education sector.
Perform virtual product demonstrations using screen share technology to showcase the functionality of the web application.
Qualify inbound sales leads to determine requirements and route them effectively to the appropriate sales team members.
Manage the timely processing of leads and provide active support to ongoing sales campaigns.
Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts to drive attainment for the sales teams.
Input all transactional sales data and customer information accurately into Salesforce.com for pipeline tracking.
Deliver crisp and concise product presentations that communicate the distinct value of IXL Learning products.
Accommodate various global time zones to support a diverse customer base and maintain high service levels.
Utilize active listening skills to uncover customer needs and tailor solutions accordingly.
Leverage prior experience in ed-tech or software to advise customers on best-fit learning solutions.
Maintain a high level of organization to manage multiple projects, tasks, and sales activities simultaneously.
Ensure strict attention to detail to uphold data integrity and reporting accuracy in all sales operations.
Collaborate with internal teams to support campaigns and improve the overall customer journey.
Track and report on key performance indicators to support continuous improvement in the sales process.
Requirements
Hold a BA/BS degree from an accredited institution.
Possess 1 year of customer service, inside sales, or education experience, preferably within the ed-tech or software industry.
Demonstrate a high level of self-motivation, energy, and drive to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
Exhibit proven ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively with stakeholders.
Show a strong commitment to delivering client-focused solutions based on deep understanding of customer needs.
Display proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail and deadlines.
Exhibit excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills across various mediums.
Maintain excellent verbal and written communications skills in English to engage with a global audience.
Demonstrate a clear understanding of web applications and how they function in a SaaS environment.
Show willingness to accommodate various global time zones as needed to support international customers.
Have access to and experience with Salesforce.com or similar CRM platforms is a strong advantage.

Experience with Salesforce.com is a preferred qualification for this role.

This is a full-time position based in our San Mateo, CA headquarters office.

The compensation range provided reflects target minimum and maximum for new hire pay in this role.
