Associate SEO & AEO Manager
Job description
About the role
This position defines and executes the technical and visibility strategy that helps Iterable lead in traditional search and AI-driven discovery. You will partner with web, product, and marketing teams to design a durable system for better search presence, clearer measurement, and stronger business outcomes. The role is focused on high-intent buyer moments across global markets where visibility directly influences pipeline. You will own the technical foundation that allows content to be discovered, understood, and ranked effectively by both traditional search engines and AI answer engines. The work requires a balance of deep technical execution and strategic communication to align stakeholders around a shared vision. You will translate complex technical findings into clear recommendations that drive measurable improvements in visibility and engagement.
Key facts
What you'll do
Conduct regular technical audits to uncover and remove obstacles that reduce discoverability and indexability across the Iterable web presence.
Perform hands-on technical SEO work including site architecture, internal linking, redirects, canonical tags, and schema markup to ensure optimal crawl and index behavior.
Analyze performance using Google Search Console, GA4, AirOps, and Semrush to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement.
Optimize for Answer Engine Optimization (AEO), Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), and LLM search to ensure content is structured for AI assistant retrieval and citation.
Implement and validate structured data and schema markup to enhance search appearance and support AI understanding of page content.
Collaborate with web, product, and marketing teams to align technical SEO with business goals, timelines, and product releases.
Turn messy analytics and search data into clear insights, priorities, and decisions that guide content and product strategy.
Communicate technical SEO concepts in plain language to non-technical stakeholders to enable informed decision-making across the organization.
Maintain and evolve the site's robots.txt, sitemaps, and indexation strategies to control crawl budget and improve visibility.
Monitor Core Web Vitals and other user experience signals to ensure they support visibility and engagement rather than hinder them.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree is required.
5+ years of SEO experience with deep hands-on technical SEO expertise across large or complex websites.
A proven ability to diagnose and resolve difficult technical SEO issues that impact search visibility.
Strong understanding of how search engines crawl, render, index, and rank content in modern environments.
Working knowledge of AEO, GEO, LLM search, and how AI assistants retrieve, summarize, and cite information.
Mastery of structured data, schema markup, site architecture, internal linking, redirects, canonical tags, sitemaps, and robots.txt.
Experience using data platforms such as Google Search Console, GA4, AirOps, and Semrush for analysis and reporting.
Ability to translate technical findings into clear recommendations for product, marketing, and executive stakeholders.
High ownership, strong attention to detail, and comfort driving cross-functional work without constant direction.
A test-and-learn mindset focused on continuous improvement and evidence-based decision-making.
Nice to have
Experience with JavaScript SEO and rendering behavior in modern front-end frameworks.
Familiarity with ecommerce or SaaS environments where buyer intent is closely tied to product and content journeys.
Understanding of competitive intelligence and how to use benchmarking to inform visibility strategy.
