About the role
The BI Application Manager at Irca Group is a pivotal position within the Delivery (Build) Team, focused on transforming the analytics landscape of the organization. In this capacity, you will own the end-to-end lifecycle of business intelligence applications, ensuring they evolve in line with user demands and corporate strategy. A core part of this role is reducing dependency on external vendors by internalizing both the knowledge and the management of analytics solutions across the enterprise. What you'll do
- Map and intake incoming analytics requests, organizing them into coherent implementation plans that prioritize business impact and technical feasibility.
- Design robust analytical structures and data models in strict accordance with corporate guidelines, coordinating closely with technology teams to ensure alignment and scalability.
- Draft comprehensive review documentation that captures the underlying logic and design decisions, ensuring clarity for future maintenance work and knowledge transfer.
- Orchestrate shipment activities and validation processes, checking data accuracy and completeness before releasing finalized reports to business owners for consumption.
- Establish and manage partner connections with key stakeholders to align analytics delivery with broader enterprise objectives, workflows, and strategic initiatives.
- Translate raw data queries and business needs into structured models that support consistent organizational reporting standards, definitions, and KPIs across the group.
- Guide user testing sessions for new BI features and reports, collecting and synthesizing feedback to iteratively refine dashboard functionality, usability, and performance.
- Maintain detailed solution indexes that track version history, changes, and metadata, supporting efficient updates, audits, and cross-platform compatibility.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement within the BI application lifecycle, proposing enhancements that increase efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Collaborate with data engineers and architects to ensure data pipelines, transformations, and storage solutions meet the performance, security, and compliance requirements of the business.
- Act as a domain expert for BI tools and applications, providing guidance and training to less experienced team members and stakeholders on best practices.
- Monitor the performance and usage of existing BI applications, identifying bottlenecks or inconsistencies and driving corrective actions to maintain high standards of quality.
- Support the rollout of new analytical capabilities by preparing user documentation, conducting walkthroughs, and ensuring smooth adoption across business units.
- Contribute to the governance of the analytics landscape by participating in standards-setting discussions and helping to define architectural principles for BI initiatives.
- Ensure all deliverables are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with the broader IT and business roadmaps of IRCA Group.
Requirements
- Hold three to five years of professional experience in business intelligence applications, with a proven track record of delivering results in a demanding environment.
- Demonstrate a proven ability to manage multiple analytics projects simultaneously while satisfying demanding stakeholders and meeting strict deadlines.
- Possess a solid understanding of data modeling concepts, dimensional design, and the reporting tools commonly used in enterprise settings to enable effective solution design.
- Communicate effectively in both Italian and English on a daily basis, ensuring clarity in documentation, discussions, and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Show strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to dissect complex business issues and translate them into actionable data strategies.
- Exhibit ownership and accountability for deliverables, demonstrating reliability and a commitment to excellence in all aspects of the role.
- Be comfortable working in a fast-paced, matrixed organization where priorities may shift and agility is required to respond to changing business needs.
- Have a foundational knowledge of enterprise architecture and how BI solutions integrate with broader IT landscapes and technology strategies.
